after the update I notice Diminished, Codiminished, and gypsy scales are....weird....anyone else notice? Pads skip/seem doubled on keyboard mode. also ran into that. On the bottom row notes the light of you the pad next to pad you play lights up. Ghostly. Also noticed some the sync drifting when ...

Going from a busy part to a very quiet break is no longer frustrating but nice with the fx tails carrying on :D Still can notice some notes not running their course, hope they can fix that too. Till then a little more reverb here and some extra delay there will cover it up.

Thats a pretty smart solution! You can half tempo stuff for melodic parts and such.

Then again, if they E2 does a checksum check the modified firmware shouldn't flash They can't do a (complete) checksum, because they don't know how the firmware does look like look after they updated it. So there's no way to tell the correct checksum to the machine in advance. They'd have to add ...

I've just checked and both firmware updates are exactly the same size (2097408). It wouldn't surprise me if the whole firmware gets replaced and includes the basic PCM kits. The flash size is probably 2mb. A lot less than the average wireless router. Then again, if they E2 does a checksum check the ...

Small bug when changing octaves, when you're at the lowest or highest (slow blinking), you can not go back to the fast blinking state without changing 2 octaves first. Doesn't matter much expect if change octaves when playing live. Hope I explained that properly :D

THERE IS NO TIME FOR JOKES! Given that the hardware is identical we already do. It shouldn't be too hard for Korg to make an editor for the PCM stuff, like the single hits and stupid vocals are useless. Would be nice to replace them but not a necessity for me. It is peanuts to trigger samples ...

It seems all PCM samples of the E2 are kept in the firmware file. I haven't been able to take it apart properly into its building blocks. But in theory it should be possible to change it. Maybe Korg has used some GPL code somewhere and can be forced to open source it. But I doubt they use any GPL ...

[E2] Batteries. Which is the best? Please share your stats.

I'm curious as to what type/brand of batteries you use and how long they last on average. I've read that rechargeable batteries from Eneloops are the bees knees. But maybe not in the E2. So before investing in those I'd like to know what kind of milage you get from your batteries. I'm sure this info ...

Cheers! I can't help but having 3000 linked to Kool Keith in my mind. I am happy to see a fellow appreciator of the good stuff here.

Would someone check to see if the Event Recorder feature has been fixed? A few users reported early on that it would cut the playback files short if too much data was recorded. That's the one feature holding me back from buying it I need to use it for automatically chaining patterns into full ...

I think it exports a pattern or pattern set as a single .wav file :D
It's a better way than recording stuff from the line out quality wise. And it may also render stuff from the line-in like it does when exporting to Ableton.

I think with the new OS, the electribe 2 just went from being acceptably functional to being very good indeed. Nearly there. I'd still like to see improved filter behavior (less volume drop on resonance as it increases pitch) and a shift parameter added to the insert effects (distortion NEEDS a ...

Yeah it seems that if you have the same on both patterns you get the fx tail. Also if you have the same, but one ifx is turned off it will pick up the note when the pattern is changed and apply the ifx to it to smooth out the change, which is odd, but almost effective. That is pretty neat, abrupt ...

Whoa, thanks for the reviews Frenzies! Seems like they made good progress. So IFX carry over to next pattern if the IFX is the same on both parts? That would be a major win indeed. To me it worked like a dead pixel. Once you see it you're screwed. I can live with the parts on both patterns needing ...
