one pad is fine. just hit shift+Sample Bank A, for example, while playing the synth and it will record. HOWEVER, let's say you have something already recorded on BANK A and you want to resample the synth over it. You will need to hit shift+SAMPLE, BANK B (or C or D) to record synth over whats ...
