Reply to myself: problem solved 100%. I did not do anything further. Microsoft happened. Both the plugin and stand alone editors work now. Erratic Windows behaviour.

Instead of Digital Sample Sequencer something like Sample Player & Sequencer would be more appropriate. But most people these days don't come that far to read the subtitles.

Nope mate, this ain't gonna work, can't change tempo on a WAV file. You can change tempo on the fly only in sequences of your MIDI recordings.

Windows issue is partially solved. Stand alone works fine, but VST-plugin still does not recognize Kross.
