I don't know what they were thinking at Roland's headquarters when they decided to implement a limited pattern sequencer in the new Fantom flagship with only two time signatures to choose from and very limited editing options......When it comes to DAW integration, I don't use a Mac, so the Logic ...

Well, their new Fantom Facebook page is topped with this really hilarious statement: "Roland has redefined the workstation - releasing the best workstation ever built. This group is for users to learn and share more about this amazing instrument." ... The above sentence in the Fantom Facebook group ...

I've been a Yamaha guy for 20 years or so before I quit music altogether. These days I peek at new products now and then just to see how pathetic manufacturers have become. The trend that started years ago apparently is still en vogue today: a declared war on workstations resulting in HOW music is ...

Re: Workstation v Arranger (questionable humour involved)
And those built-in speakers - a sure proof it's amateurish! The Tyros 5 doesn't have built in speakers. Neither does the PAX4. Forget it. he clearly never tried one. there's a HUGE difference between flagship arrangers and mid-level (not to mention entry level) models with speakers on top. Think ...

There seems to be a real disconnect and confusion between Workstation owners and Arranger keyboard owners. Does any workstation owner have an arranger in their studio set up? Does any arranger owner have a workstation in their comfortable lounge? Take my dad for instance, he has an Arranger ...

I partially agree here. Due to cost/efficiency of implementation, Korg will also ditch RH3/standard keys for mini keys. Mini keys are so much easier to use, reduces overall weight. IMO They will also brilliantly remove all the surface controls, knobs, controllers since they are replaced by an app ...

I didn't expect my first post to ignite such interest. Thanks a lot to everyone for the info and suggestions. I guess you guys even started some discussion within your own community on certain aspects of the Kronos as continuation of my questions. I guess time will tell how Yamaha will go on with ...

Love Affair With Yamaha Coming To an End
Hi there, My love affair with Yamaha is coming to an end after so many years. I don't know what possessed them but as of the present day Yamaha do not have a flagship workstation! They introduced that thing called Montage, which is fine with me even though I wouldn't award it with a second look, and ...
