But then again………

Yes, the Kronos is an updating and an advancement developed from the Oasys, in order to bring the cost down and get volume up. The current lineup of micro gadgets & other "toys" is a very direct bow to affordability in this still challenged world economy for most of us. And here I am seriously ...

Denny, I thought about that before I posted, however, I thought it better to ask than to risk possibly harming the Oasys. I'm aware that a circuit that tests for "open" or "closed" (like a momentary switch) can be significantly different than one that recognizes a numerical input like program change ...

Foot pedal control of program change?

Does anyone out there know if a Korg XVP-10 vol/exp pedal could be used in the switch jack or some other fashion to control program changes like the Value dial ? I realize the jacks on the Oasys are labeled "switch" & "pedal" respectively and that the operation manual says to use a momentary switch ...

firstlovedan, I owned a music store in Cincinnati (actually Evendale) called Metro Music, before both Mars & Guitar Center came to town each spending a million $ /per month in advertising when they opened up. At any rate, we were the only ones in the area that rented Keyboards, as well as PA gear ...

Arne, When I owned a music store in Cincinnati (USA) I got to meet and spend some time with both Victor Wooten & Steve Bailey, who at that time were the number 1&2 bass players in the world. I sponsored a benefit concert for the local school for the deaf and Victor & Steve were the signature act ...

They are certainly one smoking' trio and he is incredible on keys. I just wonder when his fingers are going to fall off from going so fast for so long? Did anyone else notice that on the tune where he sang, pretty much at the end of the song, the drummer looked directly ay him and gave him the shush ...

Pa 3 X Arranger or Kronos X?

It's about time for me to add another instrument and I'm seriously stuck choosing between 2 candidates: a PA3 X (or other) arranger or a Kronos X. The ultimate goal is song creation, not playing live in a venue. My thought is to have a tool that enables me to craft the bones of a song more quickly ...

Synthmechanix, I just found this thread and used the part number you gave to see if I could find where to buy the flash drive. I made my way to the SUper Talent web site, and also tried a search on the internet with the part # you gave. I didn't get a direct hit that I could identify as the same ssd ...

nitecrawler,

I believe that is exactly what Mike Conway is doing. Using the Oasys to run the Kronos. That's something I'd certainly like to know more about how to do, but I haven't decided to buy a Kronos yet, so probably not worth it for me to bother Mike about it yet.

Kompozer, It's strictly a personal choice that dovetails with your own method of working. If you get to the point where you need to bring in new sounds that you don't have on the Kronos to a composition or layer them in the recoding process, you might find that multiple keyboards can be useful if ...

Billy, The Zoom H1 recorder only has 1 stereo input for line level sources like your Kronos or drum machine or sampler. If you want to hook up a drum machine and a sampler and the Kronos at the same time, you will need to have a mixer with 3 stereo inputs (or 6 individual inputs that canned be ...

I’m getting better because I’ve learned to drop my wrists and relax my thumbs, and the good news is, I think my composition has actually improved. Interesting thing, muscle tensions & wrists. I had to stop playing for about 5 years because of tunnel carpal. I finally found a Piano teacher who und ...

Mike, Thanks again for the reply. A month or 2 ago, I decided to replace my old and no longer usable Opcode Studio Vision (due to OSX) with Motu's Digit Performer 8 as I began resurrecting my studio, it led to purchase of both a Midi Time Piece AV and a Motu 828 audio interface, so it involved both ...
