Interesting --- I haven't even looked at those DVDs yet. I guess the information couldn't be that confidential if it's actually being distributed.
I'll take a look there.
Thanks,
D

Sysex data for Kronos and Oasys
I am using both an Oasys and a Kronos (in different live rigs) and managing them (along with my other keyboards) from a custom MaxMSP environment on my Mac. I'd like to be able to send sysex messages to get more fine control over the instruments (for example, to be able to switch from Combo to ...

But that's the problem (I think)....I was never able to find a MIDI Channel 1 If you edit the MIDI channel numbers on a track, the first track is not "1", it is "1G" I have tried sending MIDI data into the Oasys on MIDI channel 1 but it never responded --- I always had to change the MIDI channel on ...

Using Kronos remotely on MIDI channel 1
Although I have used the Oasys for several years, i didn't really leverage it much as a sound engine to be controlled from another keyboard. I do know that when I tried to do such things, I always had to configure the combo parts to respond on MIDI channels other than 1, Is there a way to be able to ...

If you use a laptop with your environment along with a multiport MIDI interface, then you might be interested in using an app like MaxMSP to provide you with fine grain control, including your specific need. I've written a few articles on how I built a library in Max specifically for doing this kind ...

How to use up the Oasys credit?
So my Kronos arrived today and I figured I'd go buy some of the sound libraries using the credit that Korg gave me for having originally bought optional software for the Oasys. However, when I went to take a look at the libraries, there's only about $70 worth of libraries that are actually available ...

I did use roadies....the problem was not really the gear itself which in theory could be setup/torn down in 1/2 hour (because the cabling system carries audio, midi, power, USB and control signals and so very easy to connect) but more because we ended up playing in places where there wasn't enough ...

It's all relative. This is what I have been carrying around until now!

It's my understanding that the Kronos is essentially the same as the Oasys with which I am deeply familar (except for KARMA which I never figured out, and didn't really care about too much) so I'm not concerned too much about how to use it. I'm much more interested in peripheral/third party issues ...
