Oasys is Relevant! Was seen used on HBO at Obama inaug...
Hey folks, HBO had the Obama inaugural festivities in HBO today and Herbie Hancock was visibly using an Oasys 88 on stage along with a Fender Rhodes. I guess for all those doubters the Oasys is presidential caliber. I don't think Herbie would risk his performance with anything lesser. Hmmm, didn't ...

Windows XP , even worse !!!! because you are basically loading an OS that has unecessary routines in it not stripped down for musical functions as the Oasys. I work in IT and I know that pound for pound Windows is not as reliable as a Linux/UNIX OS and even though you might have VSTs and so forth ...

The Emerson quote is quite funny as we all know that Keith is a die hard Korg , Hammond , and Moog guy. Anything else is just to play with. As for the Oasys I think it is true that Korg has to step up in it's moral promise to support this beast. I have always been a big fan of Korg equipment and ...

OpenLabs also has a big achilles heel... It run on top of Windows and that in itself tells you volumes. The OS is immature and closed. Isn't windows also scrapping Vista for Windows 7? I much prefer the LInux platform as was desgined for the Oasys. BY the way the Oasys also has a much richer and ...

Using Oasys with Digitech Vocalist live Pro vocal harmonizer
Hey folks I had a technical question for the Korg folks based on the following setup I have going. I've MIDI'd up a Digitech Vocalist Live Pro vocal harmonizer to my Oasys. I have been using the "External Control Surface" to assign a slew of continuous controllers that enable me to adjust in ...

I totally agree with you Sharp. You know some people in this forum may perceive the attitude of some of us as "elite" because we dont' express ourselves in a brash and uncontrolled manner, but we try to treat each other with consideration and thoughtfulness. None of us know it all and it doesn't ...

I certainly know that the bug fixes and improvements are stated in the beginning however the new enhancements are not indexed within the manual so when you have a manual that is 1000+ pages you end up having to dig into every single little section and then there are the things that are corralated ...

Suggestion to Korg if update does come out.
If anyone from Korg is listening I would suggest the following. If there is an update of the OS that gets issued, please print an addendum to the existing manual as some of us have had the manual printed out (sometimes the PDF format is not all that convenient). It's awful to have to reprint the ...

He states that he gets this problem when he "accidentally" goes past this effect. Well if he is stating that here and he acknowledges it and still does it it is then no longer accidental. There goes that lawsuit. He doesn't have to scroll why just not select the preferred setting? A lawsuit will ...

Ok Kevin I think I am getting used to the mix of the pianos. I vote for disk 1 as the fazoli1 and the steinway and wonderful. and I also like the Steingweg. I find the Bosendofer hard to get used to but I'll try it again. The fazoli is odd though because the stereo dynamic changed when you paly (p ...

Well, I don't know if this is the correct place to post this question but anyways... I got the bundle and I gues I've been used to the EX2 pianos and that one seems so full bodied clear. The Karo one I don't know if it is the mix or what but they seem rather muted and very midrangy and not as huge ...

Why people buy and then turn around and sell their Oasys? :(
I've noted folk in thei forum that have at some point purchased and then turn around in a realtively short time to sell their Oasys. Now don't get me wrong I know times are tough but if you know times are tough and you do not earn enough to buy and hold on to the Oasys well why buy it? It's quite ...
