hey phil
no, you need a computer to do that unfortunately.
with the kpro you can do it without a computer, but you lose the sampling/looping aspect of the kpro while doing so...

in ableton, simply press the midi button in the upper right hand corner. a bunch of areas on the screen will turn blue... click one of those areas, then press a button on the kp3 and that button will control that item in ableton.

heck i already trigger synths w/ my kp3 so it' not like i need this. i'm just saying that's the appealing feature to me. otherwise, the loopers seem about on par with what the kp3 offers and the synths simply can't compare to the other stuff i have so it's the touch screen that i really like... as ...

well for me, it looks like it can perform the only thing that i really want out of a kpro (triggering external synths) for 1/4 the price...

uhh, try listening to shpongle when you're a little less sober.... it might make more sense if you ingest some psychedelics first ;)

in that same vein, check out OTT, hallucinogen in dub, and bluetech

since you can do many things with midi, it would help for you to be more specific about what you are trying to accomplish.

i guess that's what i meant - as long as you're not using the touchpad, you might as well be using a more expressive synth...

lol, like i said, kinda useless. personally i don't see the point of playing the kpro with another input device. you're not going to get velocity or polyphony out of it. the touch pad is it's sole strength in terms of expressiveness, IMO. back to your original question, i don't really know of any ...
