well hey, don't let me influence you too much! i'm just saying, if you're looking for a *synth* this isn't really it. i've never played around with an R3 so i don't know too much about it, but it's bound to have far more features in terms of polyphony, velocity, programmable parameters like LFOs and ...

@sipa, yes if you read this whole thread it's clearly stated. playing this with an external keyboard is a joke. for $400 you could get a sweet REAL synth, such as the DSI mopho, or a soft synth like NI Massive that would be thousands of times more powerful and expressive. just my opinion, but i've ...

could you try syncing it to another piece of gear and see if that works? for example you can connect a kp3 to ableton live and have the kp3 slaved to ableton's clock. in my experience if you set ableton's clock to 120 bpm, the kp3 will jump between 119.5 - 120.5 wondering if the kpro has the same ...

this sounds like a job for the manual!

it doesn't matter, it'll spit out midi data either way (usb, midi cable, regular mode, external ctrl, any combo of the above should work). if you don't want to do anything else with the kp3 put it in external control mode. otherwise, don't.

" Rather than picking the centre point, it would be just as if you'd played the two pad positions straight after eachother."

*forehead smack*
you are right of course... and even if you could, the result would not be a polyphonic playback

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAXAJiYLoZg this video? i just scanned it and he only plays a few notes but they are not in a chord. if you try to place two fingers on the touchpad at once it just locates a point in between those spots and plays that. my guess is trying to trigger two notes at once ...

@ sipa - you can't even trigger a *single* note via midi without some sort of a patch between your kpro and your keyboard.. you have to instead set the x position of the touch pad, the y position of the touch pad, and turn touch on/off. so instead of a note on/off message, you need to send those 3 ...

you prolly created a zero crossing on the loop point. i'm not sure this is a kaossilator specific problem, but more a general sample-looping problem. i guess i'd have to see it in action to know either way but just a thought.

thank god i think you are right.

i never noticed this issue with the original kaossilator but i used the kp3 to record loops since it has a longer loop length.

welp. there's the final nail in the kaossilator "pro" coffin IMO. i assume this means that all the previous sync/bpm issues are in place. i have defended korg over this in the past, but to release a new product with the same known problem, is really indefensible. @bowmoney, do a forum search for ...

you'd have to keep in mind of course that those buttons send program change messages, so any time you were changing programs on the kp3 with the program wheel, you'd be liable to set them off.
