There is no benefit… Version 2 editor was updated to function with OS 2.2 in Kronos.
My personal opinion, the editor SUX! Disappointment is an understatement.

Does this happen with one of your own templates?
Try creating a new song and see if it still happens, if it does I would call support.

Is it possible that you accidentally recorded a tempo change?
Is there any external midi coming into Kronos?
