Where are you finding the download upgrades to the dongle-free edition? I've just tried searching what I thought is the Korg support pages and find nothing.
I'm sorry I don't have any answer for you on where to buy the dongle-free version.

Thank you very much for posting this fix -- I was reminded of this midi-driver limit in XP when I purchased a Creative Labs keyboard with the mini-midi keyboard as part of a normal computer keyboard. Nothing I did would get the midi keyboard part recognized even after installing the driver software ...
