My long time SW rep said that that info is not correct and the ETA has been revised to April. Yes, perhaps just my ETA is April as there are people in front of me that will be getting boards early, but I will be waiting a few months at least. Hope that helps!

I have my pre order with SW as well, but have yet to hear anything. I pinged my rep to see what the scoop is. If I hear anything I will let you know. In my experience SW is cautious w/ their release dates, but I would be stunned if I saw this board before April. Could just be an ETA glitch on their ...

Synth porn! Thanks for posting these... this is a nice looking synth. Sleek and refined. I can see how some would say "boring", but I prefer "understated." Based on looks alone, I think I like the way the front panel controls on the "61" go nearly from end to end (looks like a flight deck). The 73 ...

Knobs & Sliders - Kronos "Tone Adj" page?

I was fooling around with Stephen Kay's very cool virtual Oasys GUI to further my Kronos education (link here: http://www.karma-lab.com/oasys/gui/OASYS_Virtual_GUI2.html). On the Oasys all of the programs have various synth parameters automatically mapped to the front panel knobs and sliders on the ...

^^^^!!!!!! That is BRILLIANT! Many thanks for the reply Dan! Here I thought I would have to spend time working around this. All I can say @ this point is "thanks" for putting together such a well thought out product. Literally the only item left on my want list is a piano roll editor for the ...

Cheers X-Trade. Thanks, as always, for providing such detailed answers. If you are working in Program or Combi mode and want to instantly make a song primarily out of the song you are playing, all of Korg's newer workstations have an [ENTER] + [REC] shortcut which directly imports that entire ...

Learning "Korg": IFX Program to Sequencer Workflow

I come from the Motif workstation world (I sold all my softsynths and midi controllers and bought an XF last fall - it is a wonderful board); I was planning on buying an M3 module in 2011 to compliment the XF, but that plan changed the moment I saw Kronos (have a pre-order in already... with wife ...

This may be helpful: Stephen Kay created the on-line GUI for OASYS 8). Although it's not complete, you can study the most important pages and the layout.

( )

I'll never understand why they don't include arps or at least an onboard GE editor. With that, you're playing someone else's music. :( On your M3 (and on your KRONOS when it arrives!), check out the KARMA GEs in the Arpeggiator category (especially the Simple subcategory). Those may be more to your ...

Cheers X-Trade and thanks for the clarification - much appreciated.

Beyond the basic up/down/rnd/chord I tend to use step sequencers. I have never owned a Korg and know next to nothing about Karma, but I am guessing there is a lot to love there.

Kronos Arpeggiator & Step Sequencer

Forgive what sounds like a silly question, but per the spec I see that only the PolySix engine has an arpeggiator listed. Is there a basic arpeggiator available globally and/or for the other synths as well? I understand that Karma is fully integrated and that it is capable of amazing things... but ...

Hi Rich, From the demos I heard someone mention a step sequencer. Is this a global sequencing mode (i.e. an alterantive to the core sequencer) that can be used with any of the synth engines, or is it limited to the various VA engines? If it lives as part of the VAs, is it designed to simply generate ...
