^^^Now that is wicked. I have never had a workstation w/ drum pads on it before, so I guess I am not missing much by not having physical pads on the front panel. That they thought to include them virtually is quite nice (though I see some complaining). They managed to keep the 61 in my price range ...

Kronos Step Sequencer and Virtual "Chord Pads"
Hi all - in reading through the various threads and going through what I could locate online, it seems as if the Kronos has a step sequencer - or at least a step sequencer as a function of the VA engines. Is this a global step sequencer (i.e. could I apply it to the FM Synth for instance), or is it ...

EMX1 as Sequencer for External Synths / EMX1 as a Drum Synth
I ordered a RADIAS-R and it should be here next week. I have been toying with the idea of getting an EMX-1 to drive the Radias for some old school fun. I read the EMX-1 manual last night, but, unless I missed something, it says precious little about how it works sequencing an external synth, so I ...

Re: RADIAS Presales Qs: Drums, Step Seq, OUTS...
I've thought about doing this too. I even thought about adding a set of mini-keys in front to make it a bit microkorg-ish. Do let us know how it goes! For sure! In fact I will post the "specs" of how I did it if the results warrant it. Never considered adding mini-keys though... but my-oh-my would ...

Re: RADIAS Presales Qs: Drums, Step Seq, OUTS...
OK, the order goes in tomorrow... I should have it in my hands next week Tuesday. I have ditched the idea of a rack and instead plan to make some nice wooden end cheeks for it. I think a hardwood with a nice dark stain will look fantastic. If it turns out nice I will be sure to post the results. A ...

^^^Fantastic... thanks for the very complete answers. Tremendously helpful. This is such an amazing synth, and, I think, a steal @ $700. I looked at the other VAs in its range and I really can't find anything to compare feature for feature. Honestly, there are synths that cost more that don't have ...

RADIAS Presales Qs: Drums, Step Seq, OUTS...
Been on the hunt to pair a nice VA to my Motif workstation... I cannot believe I let the Radias fly under my radar. It is a gem of a synth and the price is spot on. I just have a few basic presales questions after reading the manual and before I place my order. 1) I know it has drum kits... are all ...

Thanks Apex!!! After the dust settles, my MachineDrum and Revolution will be paired with an XF and an M3 (all being recorded in to a Korg D3200). I am REALLY happy with this balance... I went from being such a soft synth guy to having a totally out of the box setup. But I have so much more fun this ...

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for taking the time to answer my questions and help with this decision process. You were all so incredibly kind w/ your time and I know I wouldn't have been able to get this far in the decision process w/o this thread. After spending a great deal of time researching ...

Another idea on Motif XS and XF is to turn on/off the IFXs as you need them in the song, as long as you have them on on max of 8 parts at a time. So, you could have 8 different parts using the IFXs in different sections of your song.... ;-) Interesting... I thought the IFX were set up per channel ...

Well, the only reason I think it was the old OS is that I couldn't find the Piano Roll in the Seq... when I asked about it, the guy said it was only available on the "expanded OS", so I assume they had a pre 2.0 unit? The GC is Chicago is the smallest/least staffed GC I have ever been in, hands down ...
