This thread should have been titled "Korg USA giving preferential treatment to US customers" because that's what's going on and when told in context, doesn't seem like a big deal. i'm just thinking that country by country, that korg probably sells more keyboards in the US than anywhere else, so you ...

aaah - I agree with you there - wasn't the first video released SHT (I thought the German guy doing the sneak preview looked either tired or bored) - Zo its a new keyboard from Roland (yawn). Some of the other vids have been good - but you are right they could really do something like the stuff Rich ...

Kronos vs Jupiter I really dont understand the hysteria - we don't work for either of these companies. This tribal mentality about whether one or the other is the best or really defensive about the existence of another option is getting pretty silly. Especially since no-one here actually owns one or ...

Close - good guess but wrong

R - is Roland K - is for Korg Notice I ain't called RicKY... (although will admit to still having a QY20 - not sure the JP or Kronos will be easy to put batteries into and use on a plane). Fan of cool keyboards - and (in my opinion) there are only 2 Japanese companies that I like. - Nowt wrong with ...

My choice would be a Prophet 08 for the analogue, upgrade my DAW and get some VSTs (can anyone recommend any? FM08 for example), that plus a decent audio interface and still change out of £3,000..... Hmmm, not a bad idea (and I could buy all of that this week) Isn't it interesting that after Roland ...

Oh... And dont even try to e-mail them asking for delivery dates and possible prices - because they wont even answer you...!!

Shameful (I thought Japanese companies were not that arrogant)...

Any news when we can expect in depth videos on:

STR-1
Mod-7
and
the analogue synths?

These are the ones I really want to know about!

I guess a good Karma vid from Stephen would be pretty useful since I have no experience in that yet.

According to the internetsite of a dutch retailer we will have to wait until the end of June before Korg will announce european prices of the Kronos. First delivery is expected in juli/august.... Which is exactly the same time the JP-80 is going to be in the shops....... In that time Yamaha may ...

Korg Japan sets prices to the distributors based somewhat on the yen exchange rate; if they are not even going to be selling them for a couple of months, it may make sense for them to hold off until closer to the delivery date, when they can see what the yen rate is at that time. You heard it here ...

Just bringing this thread back to the top - in response to Korg's silence in Europe - apparently (on another thread) - the German distributors have been told not to reveal Eu prices. Why? What's up? Waiting for the Jupiter 80 price? Waiting for the US economy to take a fall? Not planning to ship for ...

Loads of people interested etc, and I can see why.... But it's NOT a Kronos-competitor. IMHO, a lot of people just WANT a synth, regardless of who makes it..... Korg, by keeping quiet on the price (NOT availability - I think we all sympathise with the tragic state of events over in Japan) haven't ...
