This is amazing news! I'd like to say that I've just been patiently waiting and giving the benefit of the doubt knowing that Japan has been suffering with some horrible tragedy (all of which is true); but, mainly I'm just preoccupied with the sheer number of programs, engines, parameters ...

Wavestation Legacy is pretty cool, but to my ears it is somehow missing the richness of the original hardware (I have the SR). I pull up Northern Lights and all's well with the world - twinkly tinklies :) That's another good point. It might be possible that the Kronos will ultimately sound every ...

You've hit on some of the same issues I'm running into. I'm playing with Bender Mini - Rom 9, Performance 4 from the Wavestation (Legacy). The waveforms are easy to find in the ROM banks just where Dan pointed to. I'm able to make a wavesequence that approximates the one in the Wavestation in ...

Re: Dilemma - trade Z1 for Kronos?

I know, I know, never sell an old synth, you'll regret it later... [...] But I don't think I can afford one unless I trade in my Z1 to get it! • How much money would you get from selling your Z1? • How long would it take you to save that amount? • Do you really need/want a Kronos *immediately*? I ag ...

Re: Ableton Live with Kronos

How well does the kronos work as a workstation along with ableton live? I mean for building midi loops on the fly, easily changing instruments and adding layers without stopping.......Id love some feedback if anyone has or is doing a bit of this! I don't currently have Ableton Live but I do a fair ...

Re: Monotribe in Montréal

It's been here for a few weeks, and it's 50 bucks less than Sweetwater: http://www.tomleemusic.ca/main/homekeyboards.cfm?details=1&id=127&inv=154701 I played with one at the local pop shop, $195. Pretty limited even at that price in my opinion. Fun though, no doubt. It looks like it's made more for ...

I thought that all those waveforms were also on the Kronos? Yes, that's the point. In response to my question Dan let us know where to look for them. I'm planning on spending time tomorrow afternoon working on converting a couple of wavestation patches. I'll post back here any problems or hints ...

Re: Dubstep / IDM with Kronos ?

Do you think that it is possible to do some dubsteb / IDM with Kronos? I mainly play progessive metal and folk metal but my second passion is electronic music.. do you think Kronos will be good to let me do something in that style too? Consider it will be my only keyboard. Paolo I agree that it ...

Hi, glad to see a growing interest here on the wavestation capabilities of the kronos. I love my wavestation and would love to see it recreated on the kronos. For the Perrformance, Patch, Wave sequences and Waveform name list you can go to Korg Uk support site and download the Performance Notes ...

The work version I have of my app can already change it but it doesn't take the checksum into account (tough that's a piece of a cake). Probably I will send you a modified PCG this week to check. Feel free to send any PCG files over, I'm always happy to help! In fact, I'm really loving the whole ...

If you want to mod up a PCG file and send it over I can load it on the Kronos and see what it does.

Thank you! ... lots of people are (positively) jealous just by the ability you have to turn on a Kronos :-) And my heart goes out to all who are awaiting or considering a Kronos (or have been in any way temporarily separated from their Kronos). I hope that our work here will help them out when they ...

There is definitely an on-screen keyboard which defaults to the 'Shift' page. The characters are: Shift page: ! @ # - % + & * ' " Q W E R T Y U I O P A S D F G H J K L : Z X C V B N M < > ? Normal page: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 q w e r t y u i o p a s d f g h j k l ; z x c v b n m , . / Symbol page ...

I've done it using a hex editor on the Mac (HexFiend). That's when I ran into the issue of having to calculate the checksum since any byte that's changed in the file (following the header) affects the checksum. It should be eminently possible once you've worked out the offsets and lengths for each ...
