> What a disappointment So what? Stop complaining and just play. I'm tired of this nitpicking on every little feature. Some keyboards implemented this as an effect (Yamaha) - you make like it's the end of the world. This reminds me of when I was working for Opcode. We had the best sequencer at one ...

The "too many variables" argument is right and wrong at the same time. - right, because there are many possible band contexts, one or more guitars, different bass characteristics, whatever. - wrong, because there is a number of piano sounds out there which do this kind of job quite well. The S90 ...

There's way too many variables... what are you listening to the mix on? Are you using studio monitors to hear the recorded show, or are you talking live? If recorded, do the monitors have flat response? Do you have any EQ or effects anywhere in the mix? Is the Kronos recorded onto a track of its own ...

I think kronos sounds more sterile in that comparison. Could be also the way you recorded your piano, it has more ambient noise which i like, compared to the kronos piano presets that do not seem to have much reverb etc. Thing is that your acoustic piano isn't really miced very well. If you miced ...

When the pianos sound as real as acoustics, it needs to be mixed differently. Whoever does your mixing will need to account for this.

Real Baby Grand Piano vs 11 basic Korg Kronos Pianos

I put together a video that starts with a real Baldwin Baby Grand piano, then goes on to play the exact same things with the 11 basic pianos included in the stock Korg Kronos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLKFKO8_YpM This is a fascinating comparison of a basic arpegio played live on a real ...

You guys with your pictures and threads dealing with the arrival of this awesome machine is making me rethink the whole idea of "I'm never going to sell my Extreme" :( I don't know that I'd ever touch it once a Kronos was near me! Update: I need to unload some of my current boards, I am officially ...

What about Ivory II Italian Grand - $179 list price, with actually much more sampling work. Or individual pianos from Galaxy II, they are about 150$ and have about twice amount of samples than Kronos pianos, also with fully chromatic sampling. Bottom line, to some degree, is: 1. Does the sound and ...

Wavedrummer - thank you for that very informative reply! I'm leaning towrads a 2nd wavedrum myself... as you said, the two make a very powerful professional combination. I would think the Wavedrum and Mini combination would be more for a live show with the clip on your foot to trigger a bass drum ...

Congratulations on your new arrival. I commonly have had my music equipment delivered to work, where I could unbox it, take it home (without the box) and pretend I had the item the whole time to the wife. (i.e., I've had the blue one for years, you just never noticed it, all the keyboards look the ...

Two Wavedrums or a Wavedurm + Mini ??

I have a Wavedrum and loving it! If anything, I'd love to get a 2nd wavedrum as I could do a lot more with 2 side by side.

A friend of mine disagrees and thinks a Wavedrum and a Wavedrum Mini would be a better setup.

Just curious as to your thoughts & opinions on this?

Actually I didn't.... I made the (stupid?) assumption that each EX sound library would cost the same.
