Danny,
You surely had to do a lot of tweaking to get the OASYS to respond to all 127 velocities because we can't expect that to work right out of the box.

Well, I went to GC today and tested the 61 key and sure enough 117 was the most I could get out of it. I had their keyboard salesman try it and he couldn't reach that high until we did another take and he really hit the keys. His response - I'm glad I bought a Nord! Korg USA suggested I take my 88 ...

MarPabl, If you use the Kurzweil as the master and play the Kronos from it can you hear any difference between notes played at 110 and those played at 120-127? If the Kronos is maxed out at 110-115 i.e. brick wall, that may be the nature of the beast, but if it can respond to higher velocities then ...

.Jens, I appreciate your insight and input. I also had a DX-7 (one of the first in Oklahoma - waited for months for it to come in). I also had a Roland D-50 and it transmitted up to 127 without any problems. My experience for the past 10 years was with a Kurzweil PC2X and I could program drums or ...

vstkeys, The beauty of this and other forums is that we have the opportunity seek advice/assistance from those more knowledgeable or opinionated and every inquiry is important, at least to those making it. I like reading posts that aren't directly related to my needs just to get a better picture of ...

vstkeys, I just noticed the same thing and then I realized I may need an 88 key, $250.00 controller if I can't get my $3,700.00 Kronos to transmit all 127 velocities. I think this will be handled the same way the double trigger issue was handled, poorly! This is a problem that could affect a large ...

I think there are many users who don't have or know of any problems with their Kronos. I truly am happy for them but some of them are so resistant to the fact that there have been problems with the Kronos series they turn on the ones having the problem. I believe in supporting companies that produce ...

Michel, Yes, you can test it on the Kronos 61. Just record an 8 bar (or whatever) pass with one of the piano presets. Begin by playing softly and then progress to the hardest you would ever normally play. Then you can go into the MIDI edit section of the sequencer and check the velocities. When Max ...

Michel, Why not do a simple test to see if your kronos will transmit all 127 velocities? I believe you are an honest guy so if you were to find everything works perfectly it would be fact rather than opinion. But! If you find you're board has difficulty reaching all velocities You could assist in ...

I just spoke with Korg USA product support and was told I am the only one who has reported this problem to them. He feels something is amiss and so I'm going to take my Kronos 88 to the shop to have it checked out in a couple of weeks. He indicated that a normal Kronos should be able to record at ...

When I was talking to Max at korg product support he tested a 61 key Kronos for velocity. He was hitting the keys so hard I could hear him over the phone and he had difficulty reaching 127. I have an old Korg Triton so I tested it and had trouble reaching 127. I then tested my Roland V-Drums and 127 ...

Checked velocity at music store
I went to Guitar Center today and tested the Kronos 88 key they have there and the velocities were around 112 on my hardest strikes. I'm going to call product support on monday and share my findings with them and see what they say. I would encourage everyone with this problem to call korg or send a ...
