You may have done a relationship between two kinds of "Legato" which do not have anything to do with each other. Legato Offset is designed to to what you show on your video: triggering the part of the sample which is looped, if needed. The use Legato Offset is dedicated to reproduce some old analog ...

@ genehart: I did many things! the starting DX file is named ELEC.PNO B Then I began to make the envelopes a bit more sharp (attack decreased). Some levels in envelopes are now sensitive to velocity. FM ratio have been changed (many tests on that). To do that, I needed to isolate operators by ...

That is an interesting point. I really agree when you say that raw sounds are often easier to mix. Maybe the chorus added might "blur" the sound in a mix and might be removed in the mix. But this little exercice was not intended to demonstrate a so called superiority of MOD7 over original FM tones ...

From raw DX7 Sound to Kronos FM EP...

I was discussing with a friend of mine who wanted to know what could be done with a raw DX7 piano imported in the Kronos, regarding MOD7 tweaking. This is what I did: I first recorded the DX7 FM sound imported in my Kronos, without anything else. Then, I customized the sound to make it more living ...

Unfortunatly, there is no Harmonizer in the Kronos. In a vocoder, your voice drives a synth sound which tries to reproduce your voice with several filters, and you decide the notes to be played with the keyboards. But the overall sound is played by a synth. An harmonizer is a "real time" sampler ...

Thanks for this new OS.

Maybe a little bug: in MOD7, in the patch panel, sometimes I cannot change the level value with the data value at the first time. Once I entered the value with numeric keypad, it's ok: data value action seems to be "activated" again and will work.

One cable is all you need. SPDIF signal contains Wordclock information, and the instrument receiving SPDIF in its input should lock to the incoming clock.

The best about this is when using MOD7 programs. My tip: instead of leaving the factory settings for knobs and sliders, I choose them, especially the drive of the Waveshaper included in each VPM oscillator... No, unfortunatly. This is something a little bit tricky when editing a sound, I must admit, when you want to cancel modulation or restart them from scratch.

Maybe this would be a useful feature for the computer editor.

Autosampler 2 is fine, but autosampler inside MainStage only exports in EXS24 format, so it will not be useful for Kronos which reads only Akai & SF2 formats.

You can have a look to my long tutorial sampling my Minimoog, here. It is in french, but I think that most of it is self explanatory:
