An option is to get a Kronos 61 and pair it with a lightweight 88 controller. Many use a Casio Privia PX-5s. as a codger, just noting how the tech and size/weight has tremendously improved a keyboardists ability to perform. And the cost of total instruments for a keyboardists sound has dropped ...

is the 88 too heavy for you to take out on gigs?

I would likely buy a K 88 except it would be too heavy for me to load in/out of my SUV. I tried to pick it up off the shelf at the store and could not. I think it's 53lbs? Then add the weight of a case. I have to load/unload it myself in my SUV. Or does someone have a method that makes it easy to ...

well I traveled across town to the only guitar center that had a Kronos 2 to play so I played it. I still found the keybed too stiff somehow. However, the pianos are so amazing I quickly forgot about keybed feel when playing piano sounds. The pianos, organs (except fast rotary), and synth sounds are ...

first time buyer questions

Hi, I tried a Kronos, I guess the first version in the store (88 key), years ago and liked the sounds but not the keyboard feel. Wasn't quite right. But I'm reading they've improved the keyboard since? So I'm willing to it again and maybe buy a good used latest version Kronos. Questions buying 88 ...

...My point being, you could go into two different shops and find the Kronos has different actions and you may find you like the other one. Of course you then have the problem (unless your mad enough to buy the display model) that the boxed brand new one might not be the same keybed as the one you ...

I'm very disappointed with the 88 action as well. I played a Kronos 88X for the first time 2 days ago in the music store and was blown away by the pianos! But the action is so stiff! I feel the key weight is too heavy. If only the action was adjustable. Can I adjust the weight level somehow if I ...
