You can only have one sample loaded for each pad at a time, so you can only have 4 samples at a time.

The KP3 has 10 synth sounds. And 6 drum programs. They can all be used by playing around with the pad without any input from the line ins or samplers. I never really use any of those presets. There is no audio transmitted on the USB. The KP3 is marketed primarily as a DJ tool which is probably why they only show dj mixers or cd players, but there is nothing stopping you from using it in any other audio function. When I feel like tossing the KP3 into an audio production, I either a ...

This is just a guess... but you mentioned that you see the SD card in the finder. I believe that only happens when you engage USB mode from the KP3. The editor will not work if you are in USB mode.

Updating the firmware fixed this issue for me.
