In the first post, you said to load some samples along with a PCG first. Then, in a later post, after I asked for clarification, you said load an SF2 first. But that wouldn't have a PCG. So, I am confused about the first step. So, is the first step to load any SF2 file, or is it to load some samples ...

Re: Possible Bugs and Problems with OS 2.02

I guess it was about time: 1. Load any Sample Data into with PCG, that you created. 2. Save back as Save All. Kronos doesn't Save the Samples in a User Sample bank, instead Saves 2 empty KMPs. The regular KSC files has all the Factory EXs but not the User. Your User KMPs are saved into the Folder ...

This is not a problem, it's by design.

If you want your KSC to be able to load for VMT, do not rename or delete the _UserBank.KSC file that is generated by Save Sampling Data.

Hi Guys, can an individual program on the Kronos access samples in multiple KSC files? Andy Yes. In your case, perhaps you could break up the big SF2 file into a couple of smaller SF2 files, then you could make a KSC out of each piece via Save Sampling Data. Then, assuming you had enough free RAM ...

Yes, 2.0.2 has a minor redraw glitch in the progress bar as you noted.

Nope I have not, lets say I want to get in a 3GB sf2 file, how would I go about doing that? If you had a 3GB sf2 file, perhaps you could use a program like Viena to break it up into smaller sf2 files, and convert those one-at-a time. That said, I've never tried loading a file that big into Viena ...

You are correct. KSC Load and Save speed has been improved.

It's especially noticeable for larger KSC.

If you look on the same page of the Op Guide that I mentioned above, this message does in fact appear in the Load dialog.

I suggest you go through that section of the manual and read it closely, and try following the steps as laid out, to get comfortable with the process and expected behaviors.

Hi Folks, Take a look at the "Converting older sounds" section on p. 155 of the updated Op Guide. (It's page 163 / 287 of the PDF.) There is a new menu command available from the Osc pages, called Remap MS/Sample Banks. Via this dialog, you can fix up all the Multisample bank Ids in one batch ...

Re: SOMETHING I JUST THOUGHT ABOUT

but a 2.4 gm legendary strings only drops to 700ish mb.... just seems off. Hi Apex, Dan Phillips explained the RAM usage reduction in a different thread, as follows: ... Each VMT sample takes up the same amount of RAM, regardless of the sample's length. So, the longer the individual samples, the ...

more Korg MS-20EX and PolysixEX demos video

Here's another link to another well-made video of Stephen Kay demonstrating some MS-20EX and PolysixEX Programs. (This is Part 2 of his 2-part series. I already posted about Part 1.) http://www.karma-lab.com/vp/klvp.html?playID=24 Although the demo was made using OASYS, it totally applies to Kronos ...

I increased the attack, and added a bit of ensemble (set shimmer to ~78 ) and tape delay.. Also assigned SW1 to put osc1 down two octaves. Sounds really great - can't believe I only just got around to this! Nice. I'll try those things too, to hear the difference. One thing is for sure - "playing ...

OK. The basis for my program was the Polysix Program "Big Sunrise Pad". In Kronos, this Program is at location USER-E 008. (In OASYS, it is at location USER-D 058.) Stephen Kay demos the Karma aspect of the Big Sunrise Pad Program at the 8:27 mark in the following video: http://www.karma-lab.com/vp ...
