I thought I'd decided to get a Yamaha FC7, but I'm really liking the look of the Roland/Boss FV500.... Maybe I'm just more utilitarian than you, but it seems odd to choose a pedal that "looks cool" that's going to be on the floor, often covered by your foot, that the audience will likely never see ...

FYI, ashby makes an adapter:

Designed to use the FC7 pedal with Roland products. Since it's just reversing "polarity" I would assume it would also work to make Roland pedals compatible with Korg. I'm sure if you ask them, they'll tell you.

Re: 88 note controller

After working with it for the past 3 months, I am very satisfied with it. My only complaint is that you cannot use a continuous controller pedal (?). Pick up the MIDI Solutions box that will allow you to plug in a foot pedal and merge data with the stream to the Kronos. Only caveat, I think I may ...

Just FYI - I don't have that mic but am using my Beyerdynamic opus 81 with the cable described and can verify that it works well once you get the mic/line switch and trim pot set correctly.

I'm liking the reviews for the Yamaha FC7, but the lack of zero adjust is putting me off slightly. From zero value, how much movement is required before a higher value is registered? Or do I have it wrong, is there a zero adjust on there? No zero adjust, but I've never needed it. If needed, you ...

The biggest problem I have with external control surfaces in a live environment is where to put it. To have good access, it generally needs to be on top, but I don't want to cover the touchscreen. If it's on a bottom tier, the controls are obscured by the Kronos. I use an A70 for my lower tier ...

All of the controls on the surface of the Kronos are re-assignable. How many more controls do you need than 8 knobs, 9 sliders, buttons, x/y vector, x/y joystick, and ribbon? I'm not asking to be snarky or anything, just wondering what you had in mind? Were you wanting to try to have a dedicated ...

We do this song. There's a video in the link below, but unfortunately it didn't catch the intro. I used a combi. My lower keyboard is just a controller and all sounds are Kronos. I used the same patch using AL-1 on 2 parts...one assigned to the Kronos, one to the top zone of a split on the lower ...

Couldn't he do it with a song? I haven't done it, but it's my understanding that you can put the same song in multiple slots of a set list with different tracks selected, and switching between the slots will not stop the song, just switch which track you were playing. So say, you set it up with ...

Sounds like you're looking for an arranger style keyboard like the Tyros series, not the Kronos. To do it in the Kronos, go to song mode, pull up a drum patch on a track, hit record, and play the drum part you want. Select another track, select a bass sound, hit record, play the bass line you want ...

The Ocean Beach DB-1 supports the Kronos CX3 engine. You can select upper or lower in program or combi modes. (I don't own one, but I read a thread on another forum where the owner of OB sorted out the sysex, forumites tested it, and he added it to the DB1)

Let's say I used Sonar to create my drum track and I'm happy with it. would you guys export/import or play through midi out of sonar into the kronos sequencer? if the latter (which seems way easier), how do you sync the timing of the kronos sequencer to the DAW? so much to learn.... I'm doing ...
