4-1/2 years with the Kronos Live

Seriously after so many rigs I've gone through throughout my career - and I'm talking both professional and semi-pro, this is the best rig I've ever owned - a Kronos 61 with an A70 lower tier controller. For some, I would recommend their favorite 88 key weighted action. Either way, the Kronos fits ...

Note that the .ksc file is the samples, the program's being duplicated means a PCG file was loaded - did you by chance attempt to load it, but load it into The wrong banks creating duplicates? Do you have a backup PCG file of everything before it got wonky? If so just load hat then see if your ...

I've played outdoor many times, sometimes in direct sunlight, as high as 113 heat index....never an issue. Biggest problem has been seeing the screen in sunlight.

A couple thoughts: as mentioned, the thing you lose by bouncing to audio is editing capabilities. But you could save versions of the song with the midi tracks in case you need to go back and edit. Tracks can be bounced between songs fairly easily. So in the example you gave with multiple layers of ...

Just want to add something I noticed. When using an MS-20 program with Portamento inside of a combi, it seemed that using the program settings yielded a different result inside the combi and I had to readjust manually on the track parameters. This may have been an anomaly due to some other setting ...

I never understood why somebody would buy a workstation with 9 synth engines, 3 of which are VA. And then choose to use it as a preset synth or sample an intro rather than taking advantage of the power it has that the others don't. This is fairly basic analog synth stuff....2 layered sounds, one ...

They are still needed. I know you can stream samples from the hard drive somehow, but I have all my samples/multi's in sampling mode and if I mess with them it messes with the programs I created from them. When you save your samples it creates 2 .ksc files. The one with the title _userbank.ksc is ...

Are you setting the song length before or after creating the audio tracks? I've heard of some issues with creating audio tracks before midi tracks. Try creating a MIDI event at the measure that would be the end of the song, then do your audio tracks. You could just add a CC, or a note on a midi ...

You shouldn't have to reload all the files as long as the .KSC file (samples) are in your preload. Just load the .sng file.

I have the original Kronos and have gigged with it since it first came out. I don't have any issues with the boot time. I let it boot while I'm plugging in cables and putting away cases. It takes me longer than 2 minutes to set up, so I'm good.

Kronos 61 and an A70 controller. The less space I take up and the less gear I have to schlep, the better - especially since for most gigs I'm also bringing guitar and sax along with the additional gear/stands/etc that go along with that. If I have to bring my own PA as well (which is very rare ...
