Would love a proper Vocoder not an effect type.Something similar to the Micro Korg or Radias Formant ability.
The effect vocoder just does'nt cut the mustard for me.
Plus would be nice to see some Exf's appear next, maybe a few more high Quality reverb programs....
...and finally more banks available for Sound storage, perhaps implement the function button as a short of shift facility, when pressed opens up new banks H-N...that would be nice.

Those are really good ones. I especially like the last one.thekeymaster wrote:Would love a proper Vocoder not an effect type.Something similar to the Micro Korg or Radias Formant ability.

How many wishes am I allowed?
OK, just one today.
When editing in the sequencer I would like the settings to default to the currently selected song/track. This one has caught me out a few times.
Example: Copy track 1 to track 1 at Location: xxx.
I execute the command only to find it has copied track 1 to track 1 in Song 000, rather than the song I am working on.
It takes some getting used to, but it seems more logical to me that the song location would default to the song that you are working on.

After playing around with the Korg RADIAS I wish my OASYS had just as good vocoder as the RADIAS. As the first EXf (EXpansion effect) maybe
And I would like a page linked to every COMBI (via a tob/ drop down meny,...) where I could store text. (Like on the FantomX6/7/8) Her i could write lyrics, chord sheets,... for each COMBI.

Vocoders are an effect, so I don't understand the distinction you make above. Unlike the microKorg, for instance, on the OASYS you can use *any* internal synth sounds as the carrier (or modulator, for that matter). Can you be more specific about what you feel is lacking?thekeymaster wrote:Would love a proper Vocoder not an effect type.Something similar to the Micro Korg or Radias Formant ability.

Yeah sorry Dan ,its my mistake I should have worded it better really. What I mean is the Vocoder on the OASYS seems to be just an after thought rather than a fully functional part of the system, which is fair, its not the most important part of the workstation I appreciate that but on say the Micro Korg, you filck to the vocoder option and you instantly get a crisp, distinguishable vocoding EFFECT (get it right Neil hehehe) which cuts through a mix and sounds excellent in a live situation. The same could be said for the Radias,Ive not physicaly had chance to use one properly but its vocoding abilities are used as a selling point are they not?danatkorg wrote:Vocoders are an effect, so I don't understand the distinction you make above. Maybe I need to experiment more with the Vocoder on the OASYS but I find it very simialr to the Tritons vocoding effect block, its not easy to get a vibrant, usable tone.If I compare it to Demos I've heard of the Radias,I just cant seem to inmitate those effects.Plus I also use a Novation Supernova 2 and its Vocoder although not the greatest is easier to get better results from it.I dont know whether this is due to the amount of bands available. On the Supernova its a 42 band vocoder, what is the OASYS effect block?I'm not a technical wizard when it comes to the ins and outs of Vocoding but I assume the more bands there are the better effect you will get.Plus it is not used as an Effect block, its seperate from the rest of the effects section, which is where I assumed it was being processed differently than a Standard Effect. The Supernova also allows for siblance and spectral imaging. In a way the same could be said about the Micro Korg, its vocoder has its own category on the front panel dial.It feels more like a dedicated part of the Synth rather than an Effect(even though it is).
Maybe i'm way off the mark with all this, perhaps I dont utilise the OASYS vocoder effect in the right way to get the best results, maybe I need to sit down and be paitent but the two sister products from Korg (Micro and Radias) to my ears produce a better, tighter, useable, cleaner more musical vocoding effect.I'm sure the OASYS is capable of utilising its processing power to produce something similar if not better.Whether this means producing a new EXf like has been suggested I dont know.
For me though as a benchmark of all hardware products out in the market place at this time the Roland V Synth XT's (vocal board) vocoding is the one.If we can get the OASYS to produce what that sounds like then we would be on to a winner.
Cheers Neil.
Neil.

Using Enter & Exit keys for GUI OK & Cancel dialog b
Hi,
I have a simple request to enable selecting the GUI OK & Cancel buttons by pressing the Enter & Exit hardware keys.
For example, if I have a program or a combi and I want to mark it as a favourite, I can click on the Favourite check box, then press the Rec/Write hardware button. This pops up an OK / Cancel confirmation dialog window. It would be faster if I can press the Enter or Exit hardware buttons than having to move my finger all the way back to the screen from the Rec/Write hardware button and press OK / Cancel on the touch screen.
