Oasys possibilities

Post by Ekl1p5e »

I was looking through the Oasys PCI specs and was wondering if it was a possibility that Korg would release the Triton + Exp waveforms of higher quality for the Oasys? Also the possibility of the next update having a percussion synth?

Oh, this would be awesome! That way I can retire my Triton Classic! :-)

I don't think they need to be of any higher-quality; the existing samples would be fine.

I keep hoping Korg does this.

Actually - this wouldn't be a priority to me because I never owned a Triton (though I still own a Karma and find it also to be breathtaking).

That said, to make this commercially viable - imagine a Legacy Digital release for Oasys contained various modules emulating not just the M1 and Wavestation, but also the O1W, Trinity and Trition Classic. There'd be a sizeable market for that - surely a large number of owners of those workstations would be drawn to consider an Oasys?

However - I have been so smitten by the OASYS of late that I am only now becoming aware of the capabilities of the Roland V-Synth GT and VP550 - they also point towards the future of performance based synthesis, and to me OASYS would be served better by the release of similar or even more forward thinking synthesis/effects performance engines.

Kevin.

Hey, Kevin,
For future consideration, wouldn't it be super fantastic if we could revoice Chemistry, Reincarnation, and my EJ2 combi collections for the OASYS (and the M3). But, as you may be reading in the other threads, I've got other problems to contend with. So, that's on the back burner for me.
Cheers,
Eric

Oh and I totally forgot about the vocal PM synth. That demo on the Oasys PCI site is sic. What if that expanded on that? Too sickening!
