Hi Mozza ! :-)

That part has been discontinued unfortunately ... so finding one is going to be difficult. I'll have a google later and see if any dealers still have one. Check eBay too.

Now, I do understand why I can't find no EXB DI, but, why Korg discontinued it? too much troubles? and, does Korg is going to propose something else? another world clock? another way to be able to connect more then the usual 8 analog out? sorry, but, here Korg is not correct...

and, What could I use to with a sound card to connect say 8 analog balanced or unbalanced cable, who would make as an ADAT and, then I could plug it to the main audio v=card, like a Motu firewire828 or an RME fireface 800...This is to use with my Oasys and my Korg PA1 pro, I would in that case obtain 8 analog OUT + 8 analog out via a kind of ADAT patchbay, some SPDIF maybe, and one Digital OUT

M,

My understanding is that Korg can no longer get a key part from Alesis (who made the Adat) as they have discontinued production on them.

this is nice, then tell me, Korg are not able to make a new key, and are able to produse lots of gears?

and why they discontinued the ADAT anyway? what is coming along the road? to replace the ADAT?

thanks

M,

The Adat was a tape based recorder. Alesis, like everyone else moved on to hard disk recording.

Akai (who are owned by the same group as Alesis), have ADAT outs built into their latest product, the MPC5000.

ADAT is not dead yet ;-)

I wonder what ADAT chip that uses ?

IMHO ADAT won't be dead until MADI or mLan are widely adopted. Outside of the computery digital audio connects like FireWire or USB2, ADAT is the only widely used multi-channel (i.e. more than 1 stereo pair) digital audio transport.

I may not understand your intent, but the EXB-DI mirrors the 8 analog outputs of the OASYS. It does not provide additional outputs.
