New Korg User in Colorado

Hello all, I'm really green when it comes to these newer keyboards. I've been playing an accoustic piano for years but I've recently in herited (SP?) an 88 key Triton Extreme and I have no idea how to use this thing to it's capabilities.

Anyone know of any workshops or classes available in the Denver, CO area?

I'm partcularly interested in learning how to layer sounds with a switch.

Any help is appreciated!

Welcome Brian,

The Triton Extreme is an exceptional keyboard, in fact quite daunting to those of us who are unfamiliar with the current generation of keyboards.

If you don't have the manuals that came with the Extreme, and the DVD tutorial, I strongly suggest you pick them up. The manuals are available online at Korg.com and there are a variety of tutorials available at Kork Canada ( http://www.korgcanada.com/e/support/tut ... riton.html ).

The Extreme section of this forum is quite active and there are some very knowledgeable and talented folks who are very willing to lend a hand. I am not one of them, yet. If you spend some time first reading the manuals, and playing around with your keyboard, you may answer many of your own questions.

Welcome to KF Brian,

The Triton Extreme is indeed a very special board and the Extreme section in these forums will help you a lot. I'd also recommend the DVD tutorial that came along with it as Michael mentioned. I found it VERY useful to actually SEE things done while being explained which is a lot different than just reading in manuals (I know how that can be frustrating sometimes).

Anyway.. Enjoy your new board!

Thanks for the replies fellas. I'll check out the DVD. The guy I purchased the keyboard from has it, I just haven't seen it and reading the manuals isn't working too well for me. I'm one of those people that have to see to learn it well.

Suggestion for you Brian

Even though the manuals are a bit obtuse if you aren't familiar with the Extreme, keep them nearby. They really can be handy in figuring things out. The index in each is pretty decent.

There is a lot hiding under the hood (boot) and without referring to the manuals, you may miss a lot. The Extreme section of the forum is a great place to get clarification. Also, the Classic threads section.

I know how you feel, cause it is so the same for me. Reading it just doesn't do it for me.

Maybe cause I'm to lazy to really figure it out....?

Hey Brian...A shout out from Littleton, CO. Welcome and congrats on your new purchase. I don't own the particular Korg that you have but do own the O1Wfd, Wavestation, Trinity plus and Oasys. They all work basically the same with the exception being the wavestation. There are differences that are evident as Korg's technology developed thru the years. Once you get the DVD things will probably sort themselves out. Let me know if you need any help.
