Another EXs that could be useful, and not mentioned much, is a World Instruments. We're always getting the traditional Western Instruments sampled but nothing much on Ethnic/World Instruments. What do others think? I'm not that fussy really, but Ethnic can add some very interesting textures to your music.

Definitely got my vote for World and Ethnic sounds, instruments and vocals EXi or EXs. That would be awesome.

The Oasys has alot of the Triton samples in it already, all it needs is the few that were left out and they should be able to create the sound set.

Is this true?

Which ones?

(I never owned a Triton.)

It's already there, including the source material. Check the ROM Mono Categoriey - WAVESTATION. Waves 488 - 1085 are the original samples.

I believe all that is needed is for someone to recreate the programs. I haven't opened my Legacy Wavestation, in a while. It would be good to try replicating some of those programs.

As for new stuff, most want some EXfs with new filtering and morphing options. I also wouldn't mind more physical models. I miss those Brass pitch changes from the Z1/MOSS. Something like a Wave Drum percussion model would be cool, too.

At the very very least, I want a Cue List or Song chain function.

This has been great to read.

Everyone wants different things. It must be hard for Korg to pick the next EX update.

At least Korg can't come back to us and say they have run out of ideas.

I would like BFD as a EXi. But I am using it in my HD rig so there is really no point. But that would be cool!!

I made a halfhearted attempt shortly after receiving my Oasys at recreating patches from the LegacyWS in the Oasys, but finally gave up... I just didn't have the time. But it would be great to have all those original WS patches in the Oasys. It can't be too difficult for Korg to do, right?..

This would be fantastic, but I'm afraid brass PM won't happen, 'cause we recently had the sample based brass EXs..

I have an idea. I remember Dan saying that making new slots would use a lot more memory, which I don't want. HOWEVER....just like we can set Bank Type, maybe we could have an option to change a Combi bank to a Program bank.

Or, since every Program/Combi is over-writeable, I propose that the Factory Combi slots have an option to act as 8 more Program banks!! :verycool: The factory Combis can go to the User slots (or even vice versa). No more memory required.

As it is, I have about 10 Combi banks open and unused. What a waste of "potential" Program space.

LOL ... didn't we say this last year or so ?

Anyways, I fully agree and applaud your thinking. I can't even begin to imagine using even 1 combi bank, let alone 16. I never understood why there were so many more Combi banks. Who could possibly use or need that many ?

As for the choice of anew EXi, I am more than happy to just let Korg surprise me. I think the choices made so far made for a nice balance, when you include the EXs3 as well. I am still plumbing the depths of MOD-7 and STR-1 and their myriad capabilities. I just hope the rest of the Oasys receives some TLC and is brought up to a similar level of supremacy.
