Post by markuk »

My pc has no midi interface. when i see people saying the oasys doesnt support usb midi im a bit confused. Does this mean the oasys usb connector s dont send midi or does it mean that if i connect the midi on the oasys to the usb on the pc it wont work.

Sorry no. If you want to connect your OASYS to your computer via midi, you need to have a midi interface for your computer. Here's a real cheapie - http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/M ... -main.html. Next, you need two midi cables - one MIDI OUT, 2nd MIDI IN. The OASYS works best with a two way midi handshake. From the OASYS midi out port connect to the computer midi in port. From the computer midi out port connect to the OASYS midi in port.

The USB ports, on the other hand, are for connecting USB flash or remote hard drives to store or transfer files. For example, if you save a User PCG to USB flash drive, you can remove the drive, take it over to your computer USB port, then copy the files to your computer. You can perform the reverse as well, as long as the files are compatible with the OASYS.

Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Eric

I seen a lead on the internet for about 25 quid. its got 2 midi connectors on one end and a usb connector on the other. Isnt this the same as a midi interface on my pc because the midi interfaces ive looked at plug into the usb anyway.
