Looks like no sampler or option for sampler. Also no inputs to get at the fx. Possibly no Radias and no usb expansion. A lot to lose if you ask me.

I actually like the way it reminds of M1, back then keyboards were black and sturdy and built for real men. Opposite to M3.

But no sampler? Why on earth did Korg remove sampler or possibility to expand M50 with sampler?

If it will have sampler, or if Korg decide to implement it in form of expansion, it will be nice tool for all musicians not interested in Karma.

Another big ? for me are the keys. I wonder will they be like on TR and Le, or like on M3, or preferably like on Extreme?

Yamaha keys (like on Extreme) + sampler = I buy it.

I don't this one will be as sturdy, it has external power supply.
so i guess it's one of those light weight keyboards that will jump on the music stand while you play it.

but other than that: it's very beautiful.
(korg hasn't released any good looking workstations since Triton Studio, or maybe even Trinity)

good thing they are keeping the Workstation line. (even thou m50 vs. MotifXS or Fantom-G is a looser)

not that I hate Karma, but i think karma should be a different workstation line. (remember original Karma days):
Karma line: no sampler, more real-time controls, etc..
Workstation line: All pro-features except karma, more studio options.
auto-Arranger line: coffee holder, engine that will sing by itself, video games, pink chasis, 2 octaves etc... who cares..

Easter Egg, Spoiler Alert!!!!!

If you hold down the Start Button while turning the unit on it actually does Transform(er) into an M1, complete with the original screen, soundset, polyphony, and sequencer.   More than meets the eye!

Sad to say, Kimu, no KARMA  . But.... I wonder if there could eventually be a workaround.... Remember Karma Triton :?:

If anyone would want to add Karma, just ask Stephen Kay, who knows, he may even be working on a special version just for the M50.

I should have said "price in USA."

Korg's keyboard prices are always substantially higher in Europe, so converting from Euros to Dollars probably won't give me a very realistic price.

let say here in italy, (for the 61 keys model) the Triton Extreme (new) is sold for about 2000euro, the tr for about 900-1000euro, M3-61 for about 2300euro and x50 for about 700euro.

i guess that if M50 substitutes the tr series it would have a prince range between 1000 and 1500 euro considering that adds touchscreen. if it cost more than 1500 euro would became too close to M3 price, on the other hand should be on a different prince range than the x50.
