Karo Yamaha CP70 - Absolutely STUNNING

Post by Kevin Nolan »

I'm just back from my quick trip to Paris and just tried the KARO Yamaha CP70. It is absolutely stunning. Words cannot adequately describe it. Suffice it to say - I adore this sound and have two dedicated CP sample packages:

Prominy PCP-80 Sample emulation of Yamaha’s CP80
AraldFX GrandElectrix Yamaha CP70 Emulation

...both of which are excellent - yet - even though the Prominy is a 20 Layer CP80, Karo's CP is its equal, if not better. I mean it is absolutely incredible. I put it down to Karo's stunning work, perhaps coupled to faster keyboard response than the Prominy whcih is a software plugin on a Mac responding over MIDI.

But the sound of this Karo is absolutely, gob-smackingly incredible. The various programs capture the various uses of this flexible electric piano fabulously - from the raw, 'twang' of the lower notes in dry programs to the lushious chorus/tremelo CP use so widely.

If you are acfer the Yamaha CP electic piano - this is it. I have no connection with Karo and am not laying on the compliments 'thick' for any divisive reason - it's simply that this electric piano is stunning. Phew! Back to playing!!

I tried the Bosendorfer again today and still love it. Overall, this KARO effort in Pianos is SERIOUS. I mean it. I'm playing the OASYS like I have never played it in the last thre years. Karo have done something important to the value and quality of the OASYS with these piano sets. Forget the Nord Electro and Stage

Korg - you SERIOUSLY need to look at licensing these pianos or help Karo make them EXi's.

Kevin.

Thank you very much for your review, this one I am going to buy for certain. Still thinking about which one of the acoustic to get. I like them all....

Received KEP2 only 5 days after placing order.

CP70 sounds are excellent. Had to add my own chorus/phase effects to get the Tony Banks sound I was looking for. I also had to remove both EX1 and EX2 as I have a lot of samples which I need to have available for live use. No problem for me as I don't use any acoustic piano programs live.

Wurlitzer is stunning. Makes me wish I was in a Supertramp tribute band 8)

So great value if you want/need either of these classic EP's.

Thanks for all your hard work KARO =D>

Thank you for your compliments :!:

We from KARO fixed all panning problems and also create more prersets...
This update is very big, but it is spectacular
All users who buy our pianos can have it for free in about 2 weeks...
