Sweetwater & Oasys
To All,
For any who care, after taking other posters words that Sweetwater had discontinued stocking the Oasys, I decided to see for my self what was actually on Sweetwater's web site. You can see the same I do here:
http://www.sweetwater.com/c512--Korg--K ... rkstations
Lo & Behold the current models appear, in fact both the 88 and the 76! They both have their original retail prices displayed. The reality is, that doesn't look to me like Sweetwater "discontinued" them at all. So I must apologize to all for stating in another post, that Sweetwater had and that Korg reps may have told them to. That's what happens when you swallow what someone else says with out checking it out.
I also added each to my shopping cart and no where in the process did it say " no no - you can't do that". So I decided to call Sweetwater and ask a sales rep. He told me they still had a small stock of both the 76 & 88's.
So any one who wants a brand new one can call Sweetwater and order one on the phone - today! No deals, original price as shown on the Sweetwater web site (but your mileage may vary).
I don't know how the rumor got started, but as of today they have some to sell.

My understanding was that Sweetwater only discontinued the 76 key model. The 88 key model would remain available. It's interesting that you can add the 76 to the shopping cart but if you click the image you go to the 88.
I also don't see it at all on the samash.com or guitarcenter.com.
All of these inconsistencies are very frustrating.

It's funny that you say "Sweetwater discontinue that or what" since sweetwater is only a distribuitor, nor the manufacturer.
And, Jerry or Dan (don't remember now), say that korg made products on demand, i mean, if they run out or near out of units for sale, they make more. And they focuses on some products at time: making M3, when is done making some oasys, when it's done make some controllers or kaoss. They don't made products at high scale.
Remember, Korg is the leader, but is the smallest of the big 3.
Rumours, rumours........
Be smart, please.

Well Stephen told me that the 88 key is the winner, so when it comes from Stephen I know it´s the truth. But still belive in the 76 key version, it just needs a better promotion. a rack version would do even better
