Why doesn't ableton recognize my kp3

Hi, I've been trying for the longest time to get my kp3 working as a midi device in ableton live. The midi-usb driver IS installed. I have a midi pad that connected instantly in ableton so i don't know why i am having troubles with the kp3. Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you got the MIDI tab stuff set up right? I had trouble with my Axiom keyboard at first with that, even though there was a LivePack for it and everything was super easy. I was just too new to MIDI stuff.

well, the kp3 isn't listed under the control surface tab, neither was my midi pad. But ableton still recognized it.

the input port doesnt show up for the kp3...

Sometimes, stuff has to be plugged in and turned on in a certain order (related to the computer). I haven't figured out what the right order is (I know. So lazy.) but try that, if you haven't already. For example, try making sure the gizmo is plugged in before booting the computer...or at least before turning Live on.

yeahhh, uhm its deffinatly ableton that is the problem, because my computer recognizes that the kp3 is plugged in via usb. But, no input ports are showing up in ableton... thanks for the help so far!

There are some YouTube videos about people using the kp3 with Ableton. Maybe you could ask one of them.
