Thanks for the link...
Be aware that you will not have access to downloads until you register (and pay)
When you find a post with style downloads you will see....
SongStyleForum wrote:There are 1 attachment(s) in this post which you cannot view or download .
To access the attachments, a one and only “Lifetime membership” fee of $39.95 US, is required……
The reason for this is, the Forum has been growing quite rapidly and because of this, there is a financial cost that I was not able to meet.
Could be well worth it - not sure...

if there is a finacial cost that the creator of the site is unable to meet because of the rapidly growing membership why promote the site anymore ????

thats not the point. It makes no sense to promote the site then charge people simply to register on the site and use the excuse that the site costs money to be maintained because so many people are joining !!!

Thats complete baloney !! I am a member of over 5 internet forums and i have never had to pay a bean just to register !!! If the site is a commercial venture then simply say so and tell people what they are getting for their money. How many people are on this site in comparrison ???????? What have you paid to register here Nedim ???? are the costs for running this site and every other forum i have been on so much lower ????

All i am saying is i dont like the underhandedness of inviting people to join a new website and NOT telling potential members before hand that there is a charge to join . This information could just as easily been said from the outset and not after people had gone over to the site because of this univited promotion

Hi,
there is a guest section where non members can post & download stuff,
though majority of styles are in the members section.

Hi worth

My name is Ron and I am the administrator of www.createsongstyles.com ...and after reading your message, I have to totally agree with you...I feel that I am compelled to do some explaining here...

The site did start out as a free site and there were some dramatic changes over time....The one area , that I should have made more clearer, was the membership Area. I can promise you that I will change the wording throughout the whole site to better explain the membership fee...

I do humbly apologize for any wrong doing and I can assure you that it was not my intention to scheme anyone to joining us....... I hold this Forum ( Korg Forum ) in high regards and do respect the talents and resources that it provides and will not hurt the integrety , that it so rightfully deserves.

Thank you Worth,

regards
Ron

First of all it wasn't Ron that was promoting the site, it was me. So Ron's not to blame for anything. I have no connection to the site what so ever, but thought it was a good tip for anyone looking for styles. Ron does supply a lot of styles for the forum. He converts 100's of styles. You can upload a MIDI file and there's always some one that can make a style of it. There are published every month some very good styles from Germany.

It's a pity we can't upload styles in this forum as easily as in CSS.

Here in KORG forums I've uploaded a style in the download section, but we'll have to wait till the admin publish it, and that can take a while. (they're busy guys)

I did not know until recently that at the time Ron decided to request a one-off lifetime contribution from new members to access the main download area, he also recognised the contributions from existing members in establishing the site. So he "grandfathered in" everyone who had already joined the site and who had uploaded something to benefit others - hence the "founders" were given a free full access account. I think this was a very fair decision to those founder members.

Providing hosting facilities for file transfers is an expensive thing to do. The hosting company charges for the storage and for the file download traffic, it's several hundred $$ every year. The only sites who do it for "free" deluge you with unwanted adverts and only provide slow transfer rates and delete your files after a certain time period. So I think a one-off contribution of $40 for unlimited time to access the main download area with high transfer rates and no adverts is very reasonable.

Best regards,
Rob

Ron, You are doing an excellent work with you site. Keep the good work !!
Don't be discourage.
I have downloaded, free, hundreds of styles for Korg and Yamaha arrangers from the site and never has been ask for any money.
I understand that there is a cost involve related to the storage and download sections of any site, including this one.
Next time that I will login to http://www.createsongstyles.com for sure I will make a financial contribution.
My thanks to Ron, mrniceneasy, Sharp and others for keeping sites where we can obtain a lot of resources for our learning and tools (keyboards).

Just exactly what styles could one expect from this site??
I went there and a lot is in German...and I really could not see whether this site (and $40.00) is any value to me???
Thanks,
Lee
