Hi all, let me give an example please of what I'm trying to do.
In Combi --> keyboard --> Dreaming without sleeping, on track 7 there is the kit "nu style" assigned, using midi channel 4. When I change track 7 from INT to ext2, and assign my jomox xbase 999 drum machine to midi track 4, for some reason it just plays the "high tom" on the 999 and not the whole kit I have assigned. Any idea why?

Re: Using external drum machines kits in combi's
My guess is that the MIDI notes on the jomox aren't the same as the kit in the Combi.iksrazal wrote:Hi all, let me give an example please of what I'm trying to do.

Re: Using external drum machines kits in combi's
I've just searched the forum and the O manuals, cuz I've hit a snag. In the jomox XBASE 999 manual I see this - sorry about the formatting:danatkorg wrote:

Please note that the assignment of these fixed note triggers
cannot be edited.
"Instr" "Midi Instr." "Note No." "Note"
"Kick Drum" "Bass/Kick Drum" "36" "C1"
"Snare Drum" "Electric Snare" "40" "E1"
"Lo Tom" "Low Floor Tom" "41" "F1"
"Hi Tom" "High Floor Tom" "43" "G1"
Those are the analog parts of this jomox - the hi hats and claps etc are sample based.
My goal by simple example: Dreaming without sleeping, on track 7, take the "nu style" kit kick drum pattern and play the kick on the jomox instead. I'm experimenting to see if I like the analog kick better on some of the combi's I've made that use Oasys drums.
Can I create a new Oasys drun kit, based off of "nu style" for example, and assign the same notes as the jomox? And then simple replace the "nu style" kit on a combi with the new one and have karma still work with the existing pattern in the combi? jomox has fixed notes, so hopefully the O can do it.
Problem solved! I use Linux exclusively, so I posted this transpose problem to the linux-audio-user mailing list. A kind fellow wrote about 100 lines of C++, which with some simple editing and a compile, allows me to transpose any note number from the O into the right note number to the jomox. It just requires linux and my midisport (any supported midi in / out would work) to be in the middle. This is all just midi in to midi out, so it'd work for any transpose problem.
