Controlling IFX,MFX and TFX On/Off with MIDI CC

Post by permofryed »

According to the MIDI Implementation Chart that comes with the M3, the On/Off of the Effects can be controlled by CC. (#92,#94,#95)

This does not seem to work for me. Can anyone point me in the right direction or provide more technical detail on how to achieve this?

Thank you,

Neil

Hi Neil, are you talking about turning effects on and off from within the M3 sequencer? I have not tried that but am trying to fugure out how to assign an effect to a tract from an external sequencer. I'll try from within the M3 sequencer and see if I get a different result than you.

Hi Leao,

I was talking about using an external sequencer. Either way, the only messages I could get out of the M3 into my computer were SysEx. I ended up writing a Max patch to handle this for me:

Because that's what used to control most of the settings with effects. Regular MIDI controller messages will not cover everything.
