easy question i think

i am new to synths. quite new. i recently got a microkorg and emx. i plugged the MK via MIDI cable to the emx to act as a controller. it works fine on the #1 synth sound, but for slots 2 3 4 and 5 i can't get it to control the sound. any suggestions for a beginner? thank you

I assume your keyboard is transmitting on midi channel 1, which controls synth part 1 on the EMX. To control synth part 2 the MK would need to transmit on midi channel 2
See the "MIDI Mode" chapter of the EMX manual

You could set all the EMX synth parts to channel 1, but then they'd all sound at once
