kpro and looping from an external source
hi
i just got a kpro and i want to play basslines and then loop them. however, the instruction manual says one needs to hold down the rec and loop bank buttons WHILE recording from an outside source. obviously for a person such as myself that only has two hands it would be difficult to play bass while holding down the rec/loop bank buttons with one of them. does anybody know a way to record from an outside source without having to use one of your hands while doing so?
thanks

Holding down the loop banks to record is the main method for recording the touchpad. To record external sources, you need to press the REC button and then select the bank you want to record to, which will start the recording.
You will then have both hands free to play your bass, kazoo or whatever else you want to play.

As long as you're not playing anything in, you can just set it recording (press REC and the bank) a bar or three before you want to start playing, giving you time to start playing.
Only problem with this is if your input is noisy, as it will overdub layers of the noise. But if it's a pretty clean and clear line, I don't see a problem with this. I often do it because I don't have a MIDI footswitch that can send MIDI notes. Largely because, other than the Behringer FCB1010 (which is mahoosive), I don't think they exist.

Hi, I'll loan this topic for my own problem...
All the audio from line-in is about 20% on the left. Have anyone else this kind of problem or is it just my hardware? It's not an end of the world 'cos I can tweak the pan from recording software, but it would be nice to test some bass lines right after sampling. Actually this sounds like a whining for nothing, but I wanted my kaossilator to be perfect <3
