Hooking up to mixer cuts output 3

Post by Austin1 »

Bought a Mackie mixer to hook the electribe and other equipment up to. I have beats being sent to output 3/4 to trigger a percussion synth. As soon as I hooked the electribe up to the main outputs on the mixer, it cut the sounds going to output 3/4. This was not a problem when it was hooked up to a two channel dj mixer. What gives? Is there a reason for this happening? Is there any way around it? The Mackie is a 12 channel mixer.

Select the drum/synth part you want to send out to the 3/4. Push the PART EDIT button, scroll down to OUTPUT BUS, and rotate the dial from 1/2 to 3/4. Tada!
Look under "Assigning the output of each part..." - pg 26 in the EMX manual, not sure bout ESX manual.

Thanks for the reply. I did have the signal directed there. It turns out that when I plug into the mixer it cut the signal going to the 3/4 output so low that it doesn't go through the percussion synth. You can here it clicking but the signal doesn't appear strong enough to make it through. I raised the volume all the way and used the pan dial to send it all to output 3.
