Hey Guys
I was having some questions related to the Kaosilator Pro
After some try-outs i came to the conclusion i'm very limited in importing own loops and samples in the kaossilator and that i can mainly use the presets provided by the product.
Is this true?
I have tried importing samples (Kicks snares etcetera) from a SD card. This worked, but i can only import 4 samples plus the looping stops when i load a new sound.
Is there anyway of using my own sounds? Like, importing own kicks, snares etcetera using the soundbank or library controlled by the touchpad?
Can i write my own programs? I don't realy know how tu use the editor?
I also found out i can export my own samples to .KOA and .KOS files but untill now i haven't found out another way of importing them into the kaosilator pro than using the 4 loops buttons.
Can you guys please help me out and tell me how i can use my own samples or write my own programs??
Is it possible to use other plugin sounds or soundfonts?
Thanks

You can only use the 4 pads at one time to play samples that you load. Yes, the music stops when you load samples. Only live sampling and overdubbing keeps the music going. You can't change the programs. The key to appreciating the KoPro is to learn how it works, not how to make it work differently that it is.
I'm inclined to agree with xmlguy, although I sympathize with anyone who is eager to personalize the machine.
I love my Kaossilator Pro because of how WELL it overdubs for live performance. I used to limp along with an arranger keyboard and a Boss Loop Station (meant for guitar!). If I pay attention to the Kaossilator Pro counter, I record loops that start and end predictably the same way I could with the Boss.
Many years ago, I got my fill of personalizing patches on a CZ-1, spending days and days playing with all the envelope generators, wave forms, filters, etc., but not actually making music!
I highly recommend that anyone wanting to learn sound design and to personalize tones/patches get an instrument designed for that. I don't know what the current corresponding model would be, but the cheap obsolete CTK-691 allows an incredible amount of tone modification.
I stay impressed with the Kaossilator Pro's ability to drastically alter its own program beats and remain musical with a minimum of user understanding what the XY axis does. I encourage new users to sit down and explore all the possibilities of each tone according to BPM, Gate Arp, and key, scale and note range at all points on the XY axis touch pad. Many many more sounds can be accessed by getting to know each tone in a variety of parameter settings. Users might think they know what a particular patch has to offer, but the XY axis has lots of surprises hiding in there.
Back in the eighties, one needed to spend the price of a small car on synthesizer, arpeggiator, multi-track recorder/s, effects modules, blah blah blah to be able to do what the Kaossilator Pro does with click click swipe. Be happy!
