Help me with my Question of the KP3 Settings please

Hi all.

I was wondering if you could change the settings on the korg like this.

Can you choose number 2 ( out of the 1-8 sound channels) and make it so when you press number 2 you get four fresh banks with no data on them. so you can change from number 1 and 2 with 8 different banks?

No, it is not possible, but you can load/save 10 configuraton files with sounds attached to them. Also, the KP3 cannot load and play at the same time.
To erase a loop, you have to sample silence on it ; you can also resample it on itself (formerly source of regrettable looping mistakes

)

Is it just me or does that feel a bit limit for what you can do with the banks

the kaoss pads strong point is really using it for live sampling and looping. not so much for loaded loops. u can however start with 4 loaded and progressively "stack" them onto one bank as u bring in each one and resample onto that one bank freeing up the other 3 banks for live sampling and looping. like with any gear its a case of working around its limitations and getting the most out of it for what u want to achieve. if u're wanting to have alot more preloaded samples 'at your fingertips' the kaosspad isnt really the tool for the job.

for that i will use my Roland SP404 (tho i admit i havent got much use out of it since i bought it).. and soon my MPC1000

strong for this, weak for that, if you want, but there are as usages as users. I use exclusively my loops and I do'nt find it is not a strong point.
The load/play limitation means that you have to stop playing at the end of a piece (assuming you have up to 4 sounds for a piece of music), then load the loops for the next one. All silences don't have to be occupied by some sound, even if it is not always easy to deal with.
