How do you navigate the 9 sound engines

Post by MDCOLO »

Got my Kronos 88.
Having trouble figuring out how to navigate through the 9 sound engines. For example, In the Kronos Manual, Parameter guide, page 2, it shows an example page of HD1- 000: HD1 High Definition Syn. I cannot find that page at all. Help...
Thanks

Look on page 25 of the Operation Guide for a handy dandy table of where the engines are located :)

Ahimsa,
Vlad

PS: Download the Voice Name List pdf as well.
Current gear: Kronos, Jupiter 80, Kurzweil PC3,Roland Fantom X8, Roland XV-88 (yep, its old, but the ACTION is heaven and those XV-3080 sounds are still wonderful for me), Radias-R, Motif ES (yeah it's older but I love the guitars ;) )

You can also navigate to a separate bank which uses a different instrument type and then change the engine in the common page.

The Kronos uses 2 bank types: HD-1 and EXi. You cannot mix engine types within program banks (although it is possible to mix both within a combi). The HD-1 is used for sample-based programs and includes the SGX-1 engine while EXi is used for the remaining 7 engines: AL-1, CX-3, EP-1, MOD-7, MS-20EX, PolysixEX and STR-7.

You are able to use 2 separate EXi engines in one program so you can combine an MS-20EX and PolysixEX, or AL-1 and STR-7, etc. You'll find the engine selection parameter on the common page of the program.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

Please forgive my previous typo: STR-7 is supposed to read STR-1! :)
