Dear KRONOS user,

I'd like to differ from the KARO "OASYS" - "KRONOS" libraries discuss in more detail!

Here advantage from the KRONOS librararies over the OASYS libraries!

1. All KRONOS EXs libs are streaming now!

2. Most samples are longer than the OASYS version, thus also longer loops!

3. An example: KARO KSL, KUO, KST have all stereo samples and now you can find this also in mono!

4. By streaming it is now also possible to use much more Sample material. We used this! Thus all EXs libs has substantially more Sample material!

5. Each program and each combi have now a drumtrack!

6. The KRONOS lbraries has also more Programs and Combis than before!

7. KRONOS libs have a copy protection!

8. The libraries will be cheaper than the OASYS libraries

I hope, now am clarified some discrepancies...

Information about the different libraries you can find on our webpage...

Got it.

But deception is deception - so if you want to buy from someone who deceives, then go right ahead; don't let me get in your way. But misrepresenting via marketing, whether it applies to you or not, is not legal.

You are being told it was sampled on a Kronos. I am checking with my friends in Mannheim if the orchestra was engaged a second time to re-sample using the Kronos. It was the OASYS that did it the first time (if I'm to believe the information - but I'm now checking that out too).

But if Karo have not engaged the orchestra a second time then you are being mislead.

Yes, it's worth buying runningman67. The KSL is excellent. Will be interested to see the pricing though...
how do we know this is not a new library created just for the Kronos?

Let's also put something else in perspective. OASYS owners forked over $8000+ for that workstation. There's no question those people have money to spend. It's kind of like dealer accessories for a Mercedes. They won't be cheap! Kronos owners will more likely fall into the "Normal" budget range. $500 libraries simply won't fly. If Korg ever opens up the streaming format to users to roll their own, the floodgates of competition will open reinforcing this fact.

Yamaha: Motif XS7, FS1R
Kawai K5000S, Roland JD-990 w/Vintage Synth

I usually spend up to $150 for quality samples on Kontakt. If these are gonna be more, I will pass. Sorry, not everyone is a friggin movie producer!
If they are any cheaper than that, I will get many.

How much were they for the O?

It depends on what it is.

LASS is $1k.
Vsl's full string bundle is like $5k.
Roland's srx04 symphonic strings card was $249

So, the price is going to need to map to what it is/does. Is it just some cool string patches, or is a library of mapped articulations that actually capable of realistic lines?

I'll be honest, I'm waiting for it to be released so I can demo it and find out if it will replace my computer samples. If it can't, I'll be putting the money, and probably a lot more into a pcie Ssd raid solution and a bunch more Vienna Instruments. The new VSL player is a thing of tech beauty.

I am not encouraged by the clips I've heard of the oasys stuff BUT, it couldn't disk stream, and frankly, THAT is the reason I went software a decade ago AND why I bought the Kronos. The difference that makes is not subtle, IME.

Fingers crossed its soon...because, I'm working with the demo of the new VSL vi pro2 on its 30 day demo...love it...but, MAN, this is gonna cost an arm and a leg.

Anyone notice Kurt didnt "Confirm" that he did in fact re-visit the Mannheim and re-sampled it for the Kronos..as Cello is mentioning? No he didnt!! .. This is Cello's point he is trying to make.. and I bet the reason is probably because he(Kurt) took Oasys samples already created and edited them to be used for the Kronos.
Whats new is streaming, drumtracks, mono-Stereo, longer loops and more of them.
And Ill bet all for a super healthy pricetag!! Hide your wallets.

Why on earth would anyone EXPECT them to revisit the orchestra and resample all the instruments from scratch? That would be a completely stupid and pointless waste of time and money.

Of course they will use existing samples taken from those original recordings, but it sounds like they are now taking advantage of streaming to use larger, longer, higher quality versions of this existing audio material.

I really don't get what you guys complaint about this is. By all account they are great samples, and now available in even higher quality for Kronos. This is a problem or in some way dishonest because????
