Output level issues..
Hi,
I'm not able to figure out one thing- when I increase the Main Volume knob to anything more than 50% while the Master slider is at anything more than 50%, the output begins to crack. Happens on every voice.
I checked on headphones, switched cables and checked them on my Motif XF, they seem to be fine but problem persists.
I just updated to OS v1.5 also.
Please help.
Rgds.

Hi,
Monitors not there, so I'm using two BOSE speakers. Have been using them for quite a while now, Motif seems to be working fine in that. Directly output from my mixer mackie DFX-6. Have bypassed DAW for last two days, working on going thru combis and programs in the Kronos.
Problems happening in both monitor and headphones

Try adjusting the gain knob on your mixer. It may be too high.
edit: by the way, it's not clear whether you are using the the headphone jack on your mixer or directly from the Kronos... if you're going directly from the Kronos's jack, and getting crackling noises, then the gain knob wouldn't have any affect...

When you say "crack" do you mean serious distortion? It almost sounds to me like you are hitting the input of your mixer to hard but you also said you are running at low levels. Hmmm. I don't know what else to suggest.
Good luck!

Hi, Well the mixers haven't peaked, I usually ensure that they do not peak. Yes serious distortion.jeremykeys wrote:When you say "crack" do you mean serious distortion? When you say the mixer hasn't peaked, are you looking pre-fader or post-fader?
What is the gain knob for the channel set to?

Well, I seriously think there is something that you are not communicating to us about. Maybe if you give a total and complete idea of your setup. (Everything A-Z)
Something is very wrong and it's not 1.5. and very much doubt that it's Kronos.. are you certain there's nothing else in this picture?

Is this specific to any Program or Combi, or is it all of them? I rarely adjust the "Master", but now that you have mentioned this, I will check some things out. Also you mention some Aux L/R outputs. I couldn't find those on my Kronos.

PS- check the equalizer in the "Setlist" mode. It is possible to make some radical changes there and not be aware of it. I had an output level problem one time and firgured out that it was in the Setlist mode. I had drastically altered the EQ which made ALL of my output levels extremely low. I would think it could work the other way around, causing distortion. Remember, the Setlist EQ is global, and if I am not mistaken, doesn't change back to zero with patch changes. It was designed to act like an outboard EQ, to allow you to compensate for your environment.
