Connect Novation Impulse to Kronos

Post by stevelord »

Hello to all you guys! for my birthday my friends give me a Novation Impulse 25! now I ask you one thing:
I want to use to play the sounds of the Kronos?
I'll explain: when I connect from the midi out of Impulse to the midi in of the Kronos, how do I set that when I selected an instrument of kronos it is played even when playing with the impulse?and how I can do if I wanted to set the knobs and pads to regulate knobs of MS-20 ? Thank you so much

Stephen :D :D :D :?: :?:

I had a novation Impuls. The usb connection is not working, because the novation is not completely class compliant. You have to use the midi connection.

To use sounds on the Kronos, make a combi and change the midichannel of the sound you want to play with the novation to for example 2. Make shure the notvation is set on channel 2. The novation will play that sound and the Kronos is playing the sounds on channel 1.

See my post here earlier. USB is not working. Thats why I exchanged it for an Axiom who can be connected with USB.

This is the case if you want to play a different sound on the Kronos then on the Novation. If you want to play the same sound, you can set the novation to the same midichannel as the Global channel (standard 1) and in program mode the novation is playing the same sound.

The operation guide or the parameter guide of the Kronos contains a list with all the CC numbers you can use. In the Novation you have to install this cc numbers.

Just for your info the Axiom 25 is working nicely connected through USB to the Kronos.

I hope this can help some of you when choosing this kind of control keyboard.

Cheers.

You just connect the Axiom (and a lot of other usb class compliant keyboards) with one singel USB cable to the Kronos and it recieves power from the Kronos and the Kronos recieves the midi. So you need no poweradapter and no midicables. One cable does it all!
