You not only need a DAW, you also need a computer to run it. Kronos will not run VSTs or DAWs! I suggest Reaper as a very affordable, but capable DAW.

I thought most vsts came with a standalone mode these days. That doesn't go for Omnisphere then?

No, the Spectrasonics plugins don't offer a standalone mode. But if the OP is just looking to run plugins and not use a DAW for recording, then they should also look-up MainStage if they get a Mac, or on the PC, look up Cantabile or Brainspawn Forte all of which are very capable VST plugin hosts designed for running VST instruments in standalone mode along with various other live performance related features.

Hello,

Could the DAW fed back (instruments sounds) trough the Kronos analog in, and use the Kronos as a mixer?

thanks
