What direction should Kronos take?

Wouldn't it be cool to have more of the legacy stuff included?....I don't understand the Kronos much yet so I don't even know if it has the ai engine like for the M1 but that would be awesome....If they did the ai/ai2 engine we could have a complete M/T/O/X/N series....If they did the HI system, there's the Triton, etc....I understand their concept of an open system a little more now that I've played the Knronos....Of course I don't know if I'd like that more than using the power to "break new ground"....Tough choice...There's just so many possibilities...I think it's so cool already scrolling through and recognizing the technologies used from all the years....One minute playing a gorgeous grand...The next button press landing in wavestation territory....I guess ultimately, I hope they continue adding the old synth engines....What do you think?

As much as i like the possibility to access almost any sound it comes to mind (which is already possible on the Kronos, @ least if men learns how to import and convert samples) i don't actually see the point of buying a new synth to play old sounds

... i'd rather buy the old one (hopefully cheaper) and play the original!

I would like to see
1; Kronos name established ---lomg production run like the Moog Voyager
every couple of years just change the Intel MB/CPU to stay current
leave the case the same----improve the software

2: Editor re-write--I think Korg should do V3 in house
Feature full screen mode like a DAW and have every function on the editor
I have trouble with the fonts on the touchscreeb due t poor eyesight

They would have a winner and Kronos could be the new Synclavior or Fairlight
Roland could not beat the Kronos ---Roland bring out too many products

The reliability direction:
-a new box with a new keyboard and big buttons build like a tank,and the most stable os we can find.

No need more because it aleeady has too much to offer for so many use.

Keep the best and leave the weakness korg,and it will be ok!

For me a much better editor compatible with 64bit daws.

I personally am very happy with the keyboard of my Kronos X but the RH3 rates VERY low on piano forums digital piano section for suitability for playing piano anywhere near close to the real thing (they aren't talking about reliability of the original Kronos).

I cant comment as I haven't played a real piano for about 38 years, but the majority of those that have tried it on there do say it's awful. A lot say the latest casio pianos have a much better keyboard.

That being the case, maybe they should update the keyboard, if they produce a Kronos with a weighted keyboard the piano forum people like, sort out a few things with the OS, I think this could be the synth of the decade.

The cynic in me thinks with the way modern businesses seem to act, they wont bother, they will simply drop it some point in the next 2 years and come out with a replacement and the cycle will begin again, hopefully I'm wrong. I think we need a keyboard that's fully supported for a good 5 to 8 years to give some stability for customers.

Me personally, if this has 5+ years of support, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the next one. But if it gets replaced after 2 - 3 years, I think I'll opt out the tech race altogether, stick with the Kronos and software synths.

Direct nueron / synapse control, so instead of squinting at those tiny tap-screen fonts and unending (but poorly-indexed) manuals, I could get the fussy editing crap out of the way, and just PLAY the thing!

Hmm... with direct neuron/synapse control, my chops would undoubtedly improve, too!

I wasn't going to chip in on this thread, but hey...

Korg delivered. Full stop. They didn't mention any further legacy updates, no M1, no Mono/Poly etc.

But occasionally we get some great surprises, like user disk streaming, extra user preset banks etc.

I truly feel for Oasys users, they paid a fortune for it, but then they had to pay for all the EXi upgrades etc

Take some time out to see what you've got for your 3K, and then compare it to the competition! Who's the winner here?

Personally I can't fault Kronos... I've even got used to using the sequencer, it's fine, it does the job it's supposed to.

Kronos II may be on the cards with more bells and whistles, but my K will keep me busy for many years to come - I'm still discovering new things it's capable of every day.

Thanks for the replies....I think this is the first synth I've seen the majority pretty much happy as is for the most part....That's an amazing feat in itself...For those that have a hard time seeing the screen, maybe they could add an HDMI output and a wireless mouse on the next one....Then you could hook it up to a 40 inch screen if you wanted to....LOL.....I agree that the Kronos is a winning combination....I can't help but keep thinking back to when the M1 came out and what a success it was because it felt much more complete to anything else out at the time....I think the added soundfont support and disk streaming was the final touch I needed to make this board complete for me....Once I have the NI drums, Spectrasonics Trillian basses and a hand full of Omnisphere presets that kill the CPU on my Macbook Pro sampled and loaded into the Kronos....I'll be good to go....I can play back everything else just fine in the Macbook Pro....Plus the ability to sample anything on the fly will take care of phrases....I guess anything else korg throws at us will just be icing on the cake....moon
