Kronos Not Working with OSX 10.8.2

Post by permofryed »

I updated to the newest firmware (2.0.6) and now my Kronos does not seem to work with my computer any more.

I tried launching the standalone editor and I get an error: "A compatible Korg Kronos v2 with OS v2.0 or higher was not detected......"

Midi In seems to work (coming from the Kronos to DAW), but not MIDI out to Kronos. MIDI out is still working for all of my other devices, just not the Kronos.

I tried deleting the Korg midi driver and reinstalling it, but no luck.

Has anyone else had such issues? Any suggestions?

I've just tested the editor with 10.8.2, and it seems to be working properly. Check that you've installed the latest USB MIDI driver (available at http://www.korg.com/kronos), and confirm that KRONOS KEYBOARD and KRONOS SOUND are selected as the input and output, respectively, in the Editor's Preferences -> Instrument -> Settings dialog (as shown in manuriga's post above).

Hope this helps!

I'm still getting nothing. The only factor that has changed in my setup is the Kronos and Editor version update.

The editor was nice enough to tell me this:

Messages
=========

ERROR! After multiple attempts, no response from instrument! Continuing...
when receiving a Korg Kronos Global

Bytes Received: 0 Bytes Sent: 21 # of Loops: 0
Press Cancel or Cancel All to cancel the operation

The editor is getting nothing. If I launch Ableton, I am getting MIDI IN notes from the Kronos, but MIDI OUT is not affecting the Kronos. Something about the updates seems to have killed the return MIDI.

It turns out is had something to do with the audio driver for my Konnekt 48 and aggregate devices in OSX. When I upgraded the Kronos, something in the aggregate devise handshake got off. Anyways, all is well as of right now!

I take that back. The Kronos has again quit responding to MIDI. Not changes to the setup from yesterday.

I deleted all MIDI drivers and the MIDI configuration file, installed my two main MIDI drivers (Kronos & Konnekt 48)......I'm back in business.
