Sustain Pedal

Post by kurzman »

I've been trying to buy a Korg DS1H sustain pedal. However they are on back order with every reseller. Any recommendations a a sub for a pedal with half dampening that will work with the kronos?

Tbh I don't use half damping at all but I've only ever had Roland sustain pedals with all my Korg synths back to my Karma and they've been fine.

If you don't mind used, check Ebay. There are a ton on there. I picked one up about a month ago for $30 that was in mint condition.

They are in stock in the UK and if you check ebay there are 2 sellers who will ship worldwide.

For half damper pedal, you better stick with Korg's... while Roland will be able to function, they don't work perfectly. Yamaha will not work at all.

roland didn't work.. i have dp10, and swithed it to "switch" mode than it's half-damper default "continuous".

Roland and Yamaha sustain pedals do work but you have to invert their polarity in Global.

For pedals that do work without changing the polarity, you can also try:

M-Audio SP-2
Studiologic VFP-1/25
QuikLok PSP-125

Kronoscopie, tout sur le Kronos en français

The Roland doesn't work properly in half damper mode (can't speak for the Yamaha as never tried one).

My roland DP10 (and others have said the same), the half damper effect is only available for about the first 1mm, its almost impossible to press it light enough to get the half damper effect and is impossible to release the pedal and achieve it.

Sorry, I use an M Audio but I've never used the half damper. I don't even know if it will work. I'm kind of an on or off guy.

My PC died today so had to turn on the charm and get my loverly wife's permission to buy a new motherboard, CPU and RAM.

I noticed they also had a Korg DS1H in stock so added that to my order :)

Pedal turned up Saturday morning, I can't believe what a difference playing piano sounds are with this over the roland pedal.

Highly recommended.

When I got my Kronos, I had a Yamaha pedal that I used for a couple of weeks until I got the DS1H. Honestly, I can't tell any difference. I've calibrated the DS1H like the manual says. Maybe I'm missing something?

I'm happy with my M Audio pedal. It looks and feels like a piano pedal. I'm not sure if it does half pedalling but I've never used that ever and I' mot sure what it is.
