I got my Receptor to help ease the processing burden of my DAW so not using live but I would not hesitate to do so though I've only had it since about September....It's a nice module and even with Komplete 9 Ultimate, all 3 of the Spectrasonics VI's, and all of IK Multimedia Workstations installed (Plus more), it STILL manages to beat the Kronos getting booted up and is ready to play before the Kronos is ready.....shaneblyth wrote:I've used software live and found it a bit unreliable in that situation but a Receptor though expensive is very solid. I still wouldn't swap my Kronos for anything I always keep an open mind but in the studio or out live it's the bees knees

Boot time is no issue with my Kronos just the extra weight of my fancy ups surge protecting sine wave creating voltage regulatorMoonMusic wrote:I got my Receptor to help ease the processing burden of my DAW so not using live but I would not hesitate to do so though I've only had it since about September....It's a nice module and even with Komplete 9 Ultimate, all 3 of the Spectrasonics VI's, and all of IK Multimedia Workstations installed (Plus more), it STILL manages to beat the Kronos getting booted up and is ready to play before the Kronos is ready.....shaneblyth wrote:I've used software live and found it a bit unreliable in that situation but a Receptor though expensive is very solid. that's crazy (not unbelievable though...)phil55 wrote:I'll know after Thursday this week if I am going to keep my Kronos.
I'm having the fan replaced with a 'silent' one. If it works, I'll keep it if not, another cheap one on the 2nd hand market.
The fan noise is the only thing I can't live with.
but I've never once heard the fan from my Kronos... unless I turned off EVERYTHING and listened closely for it.

When there is no music played there is no sound, except…. That's the time I go through the edits etc. I don't use a computer to record with and sometimes the Kronos is the only thing on which is fed through an actual stereo system bought in the 1970s.apex wrote:that's crazy (not unbelievable though...)phil55 wrote:I'll know after Thursday this week if I am going to keep my Kronos.

May I ask what else you have turned on besides the Kronos when you're in your sound space/studio?
Anyway, my date with destiny is tomorrow. Wish me luck.
